Hi everyone,
Do you have recommendations for good places in Canada to buy tumbling supplies and rough rocks (chips and small pieces) for rotary tumbling? Most US-based stores charge a lot for shipping (undertstandble because rocks can weigh a lot :-) ), so I want shops that are more local.
I mostly like to buy small samples of rock chips to try tumbling them and see what they look like. I found Stonebridge Imports (https://stonebridgeimports.ca/ ) and I like them, but was wondering what else is also available out there.
Thanks.

Greetings look in Lapidary Vendors Worldwide there are quite a few in Canada, visit their web-site, email them if you have any questions as for stone sizing see my Rock Tumbling Guide in my signature below, search the Vendor Reviews and advice for the ones your are interested in if any!

Hello,
I see that you mentioned Stonebridge. I find that they are indecently expensive... so much that it is insulting. I went online and in the shop (Was the only one.) and their rough are sub-standard for a ridiculous price. Living in Toronto, I miss Robert Hall's originals. Trust me if I tell you that it is cheaper ordering from The Rockshed...

My solution is to order from the US to a drop box just south of the border and drive down to pick it up. Just did that today with a load of grit -- roughly 30lbs worth fit in a single flat rate box. Shipping cost $20US. Driving down to pick it up cost another roughly $30 in fuel. Versus $125US shipping cost straight to my door.
From Toronto you've got a lake in your way, but it might still be worth a drive across the border to pick up your parcel.

Don't you rockhound the shores of Lake Ontario?
