Ok, finally getting around to a short report on my Oct trip to Arkansas. It was a good house in Hot Springs Village and good food with my two digging friends. Hey we even had Smoked Salmon Omelette's one morning and charcoal grilled Italian Sausage burgers for one of our evening meals. No stale bread and Vienna sausages for this crew!!! Weather was good, a bit warm but no rain. All the mines were crowded, most diggers I have ever seen at all three mines except for the Annual Contest. Most were tourist diggers armed with old screwdrivers and toy garden rakes. We must have loaded 100 pounds of bars, hammers and chisels on the truck at Wegner's between the 3 of us. We visited 3 mines; Ron Coleman's, Twin Creek and Wegner's. Wegner's was the best as we got into a vein and did good enough to go back a 2nd day. The vein pinched off a bit too quickly but still managed 3 or 4 nice large points and several nice clusters. A few pictures of my haul for the 4 days. It was ok but not near as much as our best years. In a few of the years past this would have been the haul from one day. These have been sitting out in the weather since early November. They have not had a cleaning with Iron Out yet. Henry IMG_3850 by Findrocks, on Flickr IMG_3852 by Findrocks, on Flickr IMG_3854 by Findrocks, on Flickr IMG_3855 by Findrocks, on Flickr

Oh my gosh, those quartz points are awesome, as is everything in the pictures. I look forward to seeing them after the iron out soak! I'll bet they look way different after that.
