I get the feeling this was sitting in a storage for a lonnggg time. Many of the prices written on stuff ain’t reflective of what stuff seems to sell for now. There is a sweet piece of blue tigers eye that has a sticker on it that looks like a old Kmart or Save On Drugs sticker. When I have some more time I will sort the slabs. Some are obviously the same material as the chunks but there is a bunch that I don’t recognize at all. Some seem to be copper related; a lot of greens. I’m guessing most of the howelite is from Tick Canyon. Some of the nodules are pretty huge. I don’t think any large material has come out of there for several decades.

Pulled. I bought the lot so spent a little more than I wanted but it was actually cheaper than cherry picking it. I’ve already found stuff in there that I didn’t see initially. Great purchase quartzilla! Sounds like fun. Hope you enjoy it.

Excellent score! #2 is extremely high-quality palm root from CA and almost looks to be from the extinct Edison CA site. If so, very expensive stuff. #3 is chapenite #8 is Royal Purple Aztec Lace agate from Mexico- extremely pricy and that is an excellent example #9 is oolite, interesting but not rare or extremely valuable. # 12 is a huge Bruneau nodule, and if it has orbs, is most likely worth what you paid for the entire lot. Takes an incredible polish and very expensive these days. Looks to me like you have both Cripple creek (the light blue sky) and Wildhorse, (more gray sky) both nice picture jaspers. Your money was well spent indeed!

I’m no stranger to Quartzite and materials available there but a lot of this I’d never seen before. I’m really thinking this was someone’s collection that sat in crates in a shed or garage for many years and forgotten about. It’s gone to a good home and I won’t dare cut into any of this stuff till I get more practice in with more recent Quartzite purchases. Thanks for the input from everyone. This site is the greatest!

Sabre52 - Thanks for the education on that palm root. I've sure never seen any like that, and it's amazing.
The Bruneau area was closed to collecting what, 3-4 years ago? We were lucky enough to buy from a guy - who lived near there years ago - when he was no longer able to cut and make jewelry. He sold his large (6-8") orby chunks about the time the area was closed for BIG bucks.

Man what a score! Some really nice looking stuff in there! That aventurine looks very nice! I recently came across some Blue aventurine that I thought was man-made when first cut it...here's couple pics of it Wow the pattern on that is amazing. Looks like cresting waves in the ocean from a airplane. Sadly the Aventurine wasn’t in this lot. He has several pieces inside that he’s is selling separate along with a bazillion Mexican geodes. I will have to go look again next weekend at what he has inside. There might be another big piece of palm root or something similar. I really didn’t inspect anything inside except the aventurine; was a little overwhelmed by everything going on.

quartzilla the pattern definitely threw me for a loop! Too bad didn't get the aventurine but suffice to say you got plenty of great material to play with anyhow.

Like I said I’m going back to give the inside stuff a closer look and he may have more boxed up that hasn’t made it out yet. I’m guessing the stuff he has inside the building was boxed up and wrapped individually so he is assuming it’s the more valuable materials.

Looks like another Bruneau nodule that I missed the first time and what looks like a cut section out of what had to have been a monster sized nodule! . I will post some pics of the more interesting slabs. There are a bunch in here that I know what they are and a bunch I don’t. I will post them in rows of 4 ie: 1,2,3,4 per pic. Maybe some of you know what the material is!
