Here is a little sample of some material I was digging for a little while. Most of it comes in nodules. You get a variety from blues to purples. Roughly the size of a softball. I tried to grind off a bunch of the outer matrix to expose pure agate. Havent cut it yet, but you can see the purple in it. Another large piece with the matrix ground off. smaller nodule cut in half more of a true blue color on this piece. Found in same area.

nothing overly special by any means. Kinda cool for the area though. Holley has the good blue 2.5 hours to the west. Then Ellenburg has its stuff about 6 hours north. This is the first material Ive found around here that has a purple blue to it.

No...I think brybry nailed it when he said "sexy"! That material would make amazing specimen slabs...and I'm betting some amazing cabs! Super amazing find on that material!

Ill try to remember to to pull it out of storage when I get home and slab some it. It'd be really cool to see how many differences there are in some of the nodules. There's got to be numerous shades of that blue/purple...and then some would have more fortifications than others...same thing with having or lacking the quartz centers.

There is a huge variety in what you get. Some has great, deep purple coloration. A lot of it however, has your typical white agate look, once the matrix is ground off.
