These last few years have been a physical challenge, to say the least! Dealing with my eyes now, have been going to the VA to figure out why my eyes were straining and double vision. Could barely drive in traffic, hence not driving much, maybe a few back roads or grocery store. The eye Doctors with the VA, they said it has to be your prescription, can't see nothing going on with your eyes.. Fix me up with new glasses and "BOOM" back to square one, same crap! Just about three years with this "BS"! So I told them I want to see a civilian doctor, because I live more than 50 miles from the nearest VA hospital, they ok'ed it. Even let me pick a doctor out in the town I live in, so I asked questions about who would be the best eye doctor in town, got my answer and that's who I seen last week. I wasn't even in his office more than ten minutes and he knew what was going on with my eyes!! The prism in my left eye is going weak and it's straining the right eye to work more. He looks at me and said, "I can fix that".. After the examination he look me outside with a prism and showed me what it will be with it installed into my glasses, what a difference! I could see clearly again and the colors were more brilliant! So now just take his prescription to the VA to get the new glasses, man I can't wait! I have been putting off so many things - rock cutting, hounding, driving, visiting friends, just going any place.. That's going to change and fast! Also on a good news note, I went to my cancer doctor a few weeks ago for my CLL six month blood testing and he told me my white blood count has dropped, don't need to come in for a year now!! DAMN that was great news!

That is fabulous news! So glad you saw a "real" eye doctor so you'll be able to see again. Wonderful news on the cancer, too!

Fossilman, it's good that you found a Dr. with a solution for your vision problems. Then you can have fun with rocks again. Did you ever make to Lost Creek a couple of weeks ago ? The storm we just had sanded in the rock beds again. Will have to wait and see what happens when the ocean settles down. Good Luck and Happy Hounding

Great news on the eyes, it must be like Christmas and Birthday rolled into one!!!
My CLL count was up a bit last check but still below the threshold that would require any action.

That’s great news! Even better that it is a relatively simple fix.

Fossilman that's good to hear. VA is a lot better than it was some years back, but a 2nd opinion from someone outside of the system is always good. I get on Medicare in July and one of my first stops will be an eye Dr who can hopefully get my up close worked out enough so I don't have to weld by braille anymore, the peeper strain has taken me from moderately okay welder to grinder operator, if you know what I mean. And congrats on the white cells too, we want you sticking around with us.

No action required! Two thumbs up.. I know rarely nothing can be done with CLL, but I have taken to dropping some weight and went from 227 down to 198 so far, I feel better on other aspects.. Changed some eating habits and getting more sleep..

My cousin Randy was a professional welder, had his own Company in Montana and worked the oilfields, it finally was getting to him on the eye sight, so he sold out, and move over by Virginia City, Montana and started a Rock Shop there. He has been at it for over 25 years now and is in heaven doing what he has dreamed of doing for a long time..

Sorry haven't been on lately. Had a fall back on my eyes again and it took two more visits to the eye doctor to get things straightened out again (cross fingers).. Three sets of glasses in one year and this set seems to be working good.. They did something extra with the lens, they are putting stress on my eyes, but that will adjust out soon enough. The last few months, I even quit driving because of my eyes not focusing. Went driving the other day and everything seems like it fell into place and normal.. (I love driving).. Will be nice to visit friends in the area again, some I haven't seen in a few years. Tammy and I got COVID again a few months ago and got over it and had Thanksgiving at our kids and caught RSV from the grandkids, that set us back another three weeks! (That was worse than having COVID) My CLL seems to be leveling to the better side and my weight is 194 now, down from a 38 waist to 36 waist. (loose) .. My back and knees sure feel the difference! Winging myself off a few meds too, that I really like! Love this group and the people in it, a few I follow elsewhere too on other social platforms .. Only messing with my tumblers, but wanna start cutting and cabbing material more so again.. Happy New Year all and hopefully it's a good one ..
