So, I finally finished my first batch. It took me three-ish months. I know they are not perfect but I’m pretty proud of them. I took some before pictures but I’ll have to hunt them down.

I am new to tumbling so I have to ask the rocks are purdy but why did you tumble the dime? Tumbling a coin with each batch is an old time superstition. It's supposed to bring the tumbler good luck. Supposedly it was an offering to the god of rocks: Granitus. *Or...it wasn't tumbled at all and only added to the picture for size comparison.

The hubby is a semi-coin collector and told me not to clean coins. It lowers the value of old rare coins. But now that I know it's a superstition, I might have to start putting a penny in my tumbles. I always carry one (a penny) in the watch pocket of my jeans. They are ones I find off the ground.

You keep these tumbles going and you're going to replace that penny in the pocket with one or two of your favorite shiny rocks! Can you imagine your hubby's reaction if you told him you were tired of all those "filthy" coins being in the house, so you soaked them in CLR to clean them up a bit!

Oh there are rocks in the pockets too! They are ones I bough a long time ago before I started polishing rocks myself. That little piece of jasper might join the ranks. I currently have some smaller pieces on stage two that'll slowly replace my current carry rocks. He is so easy going he'd try to play it off like it's all okay. Meanwhile I know this is what's going on in his head

Hi Kimmers, what I fail to do is take before and after photos. That is one thing I have to change. I think I'm afraid my photos will not be that good. I'd say you're off to a very good start. Thanks for posting.

I always carry one (a penny) in the watch pocket of my jeans. LOL I keep two things in my jeans' watch pocket: My portable "pharmacy" and an old Standing Liberty quarter from the 1920s that my grandfather gave me.
