No clue from pick. Would have to know “general” location to definite ID (out towards Paulina or ochoco mountains). Has Skaggs characteristics l Found them close to the Ochoco Reservoir. We were literally just about to leave when my partner found a huge piece. I dragged it to the car and when I came back she'd found a ton more. We're both really pulling for it to be either Skaggs or Vistaite, but were afraid to get too ahead of ourselves.

Not Skaggs or vistaite since both of those materials come from a very distinct deposit in the ochoco mountains. I know ochoco reservoir area very well. That are produced a large variety of different jaspers. Looks like you stumbled upon one of the many deposits spread across that area. Cool find

Yeah, we were on the lookout for reds and yellows and were pretty surprised to find some blues. We’ll go hunting for Skaggs and Vistaite sometime soon for sure.

Made a few initial slabs out of this stuff, a few fractures here and there, but otherwise pretty solid and looks like it'll take a great polish.
