felsic's and granite's good mix to learn geology at least it looks like what I encounter in the Salt River and when you find the treasure you know you have a rock radar eye where is that? ah that is an excellent article Chad! after reading that the Michigan Beaches have much larger rock variety then than Salt River or maybe my rock radar is not finely tuned ha that quartz banded seamed gabbro in the link rocks too!

It is the beach at Whitefish point in the UP of Michigan where the Edmund Fitzgerald sank of off. Guess my humor isn't humorous.

Well I’m a slom on the uptake nursetumbler I didn’t realize your on a Michigan Beach Where would you start ? ! Lots of geology & good stuff I would be overwhelmed there immediately I just saw granite and felsic type of rocks & it made me think of my Salt adventure The Salt River is good for a particular type of geology Butte not at all diverse like that area Wherever you start keep on ! Ed

Ed Came for Agate and yooperlites. Decided on unakite. Found lots of quartzite and unakite but no agate or yooperlites 😕 going to try one more beach, maybe, if not back to the hotel for a good nights sleep before the 8 hour trip back to Michigan/Ohio State line.
