Looks like it's more the darker color for the "internals". Some of that can be a really pale shade. That was yet another good find...!
(Looks like your friend thinks it might be tasty.)

Wow! I've been waiting to see some of your gramps stuff. It certainly doesn't disappoint. I wish my good pile looked even close to his rejects.

Oh wow! That's some nice eye candy!!! I hope the dirtbags don't get an idea of the value of that trash! That’s exactly what I was telling hubby.. if the tenants only knew, there wouldn’t be any rocks for mom to run her lawnmower over.🤣

That’s a wild piece of Deschutes or Biggs or whatever it is. Pic 9.
Is that the slab you’re calling blue Biggs?

The piece in this thread is 100% blue Biggs. What’s crazy is that it looks like half deschutes and half Biggs. I’ll have to start telling people that this specimen comes from the spot where the deschutes deposit stoped and the blue Biggs began 😂

I don’t have to worry about them stealing or selling anything. The problem is that they are lazy and took advantage of my parents generosity. Just allowed the property to go to crap. Weeds 3 feet tall, zero landscaping, clutter all around the property. They replaced the toilet in the place ( my parents paid for it) then proceeded to leave the old toilet sitting on the front patio for almost a year before my dad finally said something. My parents are too nice.

The one that fascinates me is the green/red/orange rhyolite(?) in the seventh photo - after the pet wood. That thing is insane!

I sent jasoninsd a few slabs of that material to cab. Here is another random chunk of it with different pattern. Heres a few more pics from the yard. Massive limbcast (pic is deceiving of size) and what I believe to be royal sahara jasper? Either that or a nice piece of deschutes.

realrockhound - Thanks for the ID on the jasper. I really like the variety of colors and patterns.
I had to ask because we had a piece with colors similar to the lower part of that stone ID'd as a rhyolite by someone who lives up there.
The other one you just posted could very well be Royal Sahara. We've cut more of that than Deschutes. You'd know Deschutes better than I do.

The more they over-think the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the toilet.

Maybe RTHlings should pool our cash and buy the property as is...? A rockhound timeshare, Airbnb or bed and breakfast. We can all go there and drop our best piece and create... add to the museum.

Had to unload some stuff down at my grandparents today. My dad was like lets see what he's got in one of the rooms he has the nicer stuff hidden away. Pulled out a old wooden box and found slabs of this. Should've taken pics, but he also had a plastic bin full of tumbled vistaite, with many of the pieces being perfect enough to rework into cabochons. Here is a complimentary white fir thunderegg the size of a volley ball thats out in the junk pile.

Cruelty...! Posting a slab like that with no ID...! Something we will never see anywhere else, I"m sure, but what... . Original Jumping Jeep?
Kidding aside, that is something I can't remember seeing before. No wonder it was with the "better" stuff.
