Greig, I had to wait until the season opener for America's Got Talent was over before I watched this episode of Canada's Got Talent!! You've got more guts than I've got going down that creek! LOL - I loved that piece at the 10:26 mark!! Gorgeous!! - But that big chunk at the 17:20 mark was amazing!! Nice finds on those!!

Poor pups! At one point in the video you could see and hear a monster bug whiz by. I'm guessing you have some good repellent.
You sure got some nice chunks! I like the first one best, but the second is pretty sweet, too. Love the dendrites and I love silver in dolomite.
Question- what is the easiest way to tell cobalt from silver?

High grade silver shines up when rubbed and is solid, whereas cobalt stays grey unless highly polished and can be crumbly. Of course, the metal detector tells you a lot. Cobalt is a low tone very close to iron, then silver and then nickel. The trick is knowing if your rock is mostly cobalt, nickel or silver when a mix. Mistakes are made and some good rocks are left behind. Cobalt stains pink and nickeline green. Unfortunately, that cannot be completely trusted because one rock can get stained from a nearby rock.

Thanks! That was helpful.

That was awesome! Your spot is awesome, and it takes skill to pull good things out. If you ever start selling on eBay, please let me know! Again, great video. -Nicholas

I collect for fun. In fact, if someone wants something they see in one of my videos, I send them to my daughter who needs the money for college.

I probably couldn't afford what was in that video, but it's some neat stuff.
