I finally got one I'm really happy with. This is definitely my best wrapping work. So far. No major flaws or deviations and I think I've got everything tucked real well.
Here's a tiny piece of Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper that I had from some pebbles I bought. I was able to work this one into a little cab. This is the first time doing any kind of prong wrap.

Those are awesome wraps! It takes some serious skill to turn out wraps like that. I can't wrap at all so I'm really impressed by those.

They both are quite nice rockbrain. I like the prong set one especially. Any chance of seeing the backs. Patty

Very nice! I like the poppy, but I like poppy. Both wraps are killer.

They're both beautiful wraps! My favorite is the first one. It's really elegant. The prong wrap is also really good, but I think I would have preferred a smaller gauge wire on that one because the prongs are over powering the cab a bit. Nonetheless, it's still a great wrap and you did an awesome job on the prongs for your first time.

You continue to amaze me. I've been wrapping stones for years, and I am learning quite a bit from watching your lightning progression. Each one shows new skills, worked nicely!

Beautifully done! I especially like the floating design in that first one.

I agree with @jasonsd that the wire on the Poppy Jasper for the little too big. It was also a bit loose although the stone wasn't going to go anywhere. I tried redoing it tonight with smaller wire. I used square this time and put an extra prong. It was still a bit loose and just didn't look right so I redid it completely. That's a pretty small stone! I may still try another prong setting. I like the look of the stone better without the frame.

Personally, I like that one. Not saying it's necessary...but I have taken my thumbnail and "rounded" that cradle wire pushing it outward so it moves closer to the edge of the stone. You don't need a lot of wire extending onto the face of the stone to hold it in place. If you rounded the wires to conform to the edge of the stone, it'll expose more of the face of the stone. Just a thought...
