The mount Adams area is referenced as one of the best sites in Washington as well. It is near Yakima, where I was born, and I've never heard of anything good coming out of there, both in books and in person. I found a softball sized chunk of obsidian as a teenager while hunting on the east or south side. Somewhere in those woods where there is almost no underbrush and you can see a long ways. I still have it. I've been back this past August trying to find more. I looked, started hitting reservation signs. Did get some hiking in. Then I picked up some hikers from the Pacific crest trail and took them down to trout lake. Their payment for the ride was obsidian they picked up from Oregon. So, I didn't come home empty handed for what I was looking for. Now you've heard of one. Lol. Unless someone planted it there, or obsidian doesn't count

Thanks for setting me straight. Maybe I'll have to check it out sometime when I'm near the area. I visit the tri cities a lot.
