I started a batch with just Ocean Jasper, but they were taking forever. A lot of them just kept chipping or falling apart. So I took the ones that were ready to move on, put them in the barrel, and stuffed in a bunch of other stuff. The other rocks were used as a filler in other batches, but never went past coarse. I do have a "before" picture of some of the OJ, but it's pointless for me to post up the entire batch seeing that not all of them made it past coarse. So I used the 'ol copy and paste command and added a few before shots in the OJ close up's. Here's the polished batch of everything together. Ocean Jasper Local rocks Local Glass - From broken bottles found on the beach (my way of helping clean the environment ) and some other stuff Hope you enjoyed the pictures Thanks for looking Alice

That ocean jasper is definitely one of those rocks that goes along with the saying "don't judge a book by its cover". Love the glass, there is an area in my town that alot of kids go out to party and I have seen some beautiful blue glass and have been tempted to pick it up, now that I have see how yours turned out I just might go pick some of it up. Wow Alice! What a nice mixed batch. The OJ that survived looks great. It looks like you have a lot of pink orthoclase in your local rocks also. I like it. The glass and other stuff is awesome. That boomerang in the center is neat. Then again so are all the others. As always your pics are superb.

Wow! Great batch Alice. Gotta love that Ocean Jasper. To bad it's so darn expensive. I've been saving up some purple glass fro filler and now I think I'll give it a tumble by itself. That glass is real pretty. Oh, and you post the best darn picture shows too. I'm jealous but keep it up....mel

Amazing stones! I'll chime in with the green flower OJ, the other stones too. As for the glass, that's beautiful too - could I just break a bottle & tumble the pieces? (I know it's covered somewhere else, but I'm lazy & tired & dumb right now) Do you start tumbling in coarse or medium grit?
Wonderful pictures too!

Yea tweet just break up a bottle and tumble away- Remeber glass is a lot softer than quartz and such so be careful the pieces don't disappear too fast- I started mine in course- only took 2 weeks.

Thanks everybody! ;D
It wasn't really beach rock csrock. Yes, it was found on the beach, but it was just broken bottles from a teenage party (a very rocky beach). The glass was still sharp. You can polish beach glass too... glass is glass

OMG! Not even the drool emoticon is good enough for those! There IS NO emoticon for how awesome those look! Did you tumble the beach glass together with the jaspers? If so, i'm surprised it shined up so good! Excellent job on those rocks! Looks really pro!!

They turned out so beautiful Alice! I love that ocean jasper. It was one of the first stone rough I started collecting. That was before the price starting jumping per pound. I love the ones with the green starburst/flower patterns! The starburst patterns are kind of unique in ocean jaspers. Most seem to have orbs with color. Those patterns would look great in a pendant and earrings! I would love to show you some of my ocean jasper rough, but I have no idea how to post a picture. Yes, I'm clueless!

LCARS, Yup everything you see in this batch was polished together. Jaspers, Agates, Granite, glass, and whatever else you might see in there (The batch pretty much has everything imaginable in it). Sabre, I think I paid something like $3 or $4 a pound for the OJ (got it on sale). The regular price is $5 a pound at www.thegemshop.com/retail.htmRandy, That would be coarse granite. I took a couple of slices from this rock.

What a batch, Alice. Everything in there but the kitchen sink, and they all look good.
