Hey, as I said, I'm from the UK.
Currently have 2 x NatGeo hobby tumblers that I have on constantly
Looking into getting a vibratory tumbler but by gum it's hard to get one in the UK, all amazon/ebay have is shipping from the US so add on another £80!!
Any UK users have the same trouble or do you have a UK supplier ?
I've enjoyed my lookaround so far and will continue to learn and read, nice forum btw.
The spice must flow !

Hi muaddib Welcome from Idaho in the US. You’re not a Frank Herbert fan by any chance? I’ve read most if not all of his books. This is a great forum for almost anything lapidary related. I’m looking forward to seeing photos of your tumbles.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I am indeed a huge Dune fan (new movie was excellent)
Thanks for the links but alas, none of them seem to stock vibratory tumblers, annoyingly a couple of them seem to only supply the trade (ukge & beach lapidary) I'll keep searching.

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! I have GOT to see the new remake...I've been dying to see how it compares to the original. Hey Jason. The new “Dune” movie is outstanding. It’s close to the book and the special effects are amazing. I can’t wait for the next one to come out. My only complaint was that the remake only covered half of the book. muaddib. Frank Herbert has a bunch of great books. “The Dosadi Experiment” is exceptional. “Destination Void” and it’s two sequels are also excellent reads.

Must admit I've only done the Dune books by Frank, avoided the later ones by Kevin & Brian (his son) as advised by reddit readers.
I have read them many times with the God Emperor being my favourite of the series so I definitely check out those other 2 you mention.
As for the movie Im glad it was split into two parts, like Lord of the rings, it's too big to try and cram into 1 movie. Looking forward to the day I can sit and watch them both one after another.

That's all good to know I guess.
I have no problems in purchasing barrelled tumblers in the UK, it's the vibratory ones that seem to be completely missing from these isles.
Where'd you get those Viking vibrasonics from if you don't mind me asking.

I bought them both about 10 years ago second hand and one of them is 48 and the other is 50 years old this year, however it was around 250 mile round trip, the units cost £80 and another £80 costs as I don't drive myself. Your options are import new from the EU, Raytech TV5 3lb Gabriel got one recently above, 10lb Spirlator or import from the USA, Belt Lotto, Raytech, Diamond Pacific, I have never seen any Thumlers tumblers with 220v/50hz motors, just 110v/60hz motors for continental North America, or like me hope you can find one second hand; see Lapidary Vendors Worldwide.
