I cut and polished a few crosses a couple of months back. I got a kick out of it when my grandson spotted one and said, " Oh cool a Jesus symbol." Most of these are just cut square. One of them is cut like an actual cabochon with a girdle and a domed top. Been trying to figure out a way to wrap them and not really coming up with anything. I have a hard time putting together ideas on this stuff. I've been doing wrapping for such a short time. I don't have very many tricks or techniques in my repertoire yet.

I have never wrapped a cross, but I think it would be pretty easy- as far as a straight up border wrap.
The learning is in the doing. Just go for it. You can do it.

Just a thought, but I would maybe think about wrapping a crisscrossed wrap around the arms of the cross.

I would do a simple wrap lilke this. On ones without nice pattern in the middle of the box, do an X.

I think Elizabeth has done a criss-cross in the center with a bail behind, all you see is the X. Since a cross doesn't have an angled girdle I think a cage wrap that goes all the way across the front is necessary, but a prong wrap in the inside corners with a bigger gauge wire might work too. Nowadays we just drill them.

Thanks for the ideas. I drilled one last night.
