Help.

You guys will have to help me out here - I dont have a rock saw, but I know how many people here do, and also post about using them etc.
What is the best name for this section - and what would be a good description for it?
A name would be about 15-20 characters long, and a description would be about 100-150 characters long and would define what kind of posts should be made in the section.
Fire away and I will rename this section and its description!!!
Cheers Mark

Ok all - looking like its mainly going ok.
Daniel "SO would you like folks to call up some of their favorite threads and send you links with suggestions about section. I recall some pretty good threads on making grinders, flat-laps, and tumblers." Yeah - fire the links over in a PM for sure.

RallyRocks,
Moved threads were there because I felt that it is impolite to move a persons thread without a pointer to where it went.
I moved about 20 only - but yes it did make a board look like a tip ---
Moved Moved Moved Moved Moved Moved Moved
So ive zapped the moved threads.
And now I feel impolite. Mark

Hi all, please take a look around things have changed a bit - not massively but in-line I think with what people were asking for. I would like people to give me more topics for boards within the new category of "More Rock Topics and Hobbies", currently I have placed the cabs, wire wraps and a new board of home made equipment there. I am thinking of jewelry specifics, beads, facets etc - and specifically for examples of more jewelry made from tumbled rocks. Also on my mind is how to introduce a sawing section - how to word it etc as I can see many many posts regarding this. Ok - what dya want and I'll try and implement it. Also - comments on the new structure of course are appreciated. good or bad Cheers Mark

All,
This board is dedicated to rocks which have been tumbled - before and after pics are good here too (and also any "during" pics are good for this section.

All,
This board is here to discuss rock tumbling - because of the number of posts in the general board, it was thought by many that the posts were disappearing too fast.

OoOopps - I assumed the vote was finished there were so many votes. Yeah I doubt a day will make any diff - anyway I can put what I do now back so no probs.
MichealJohn, there are two ideas of mine which need doing, one is a new board for RTH, stored on rocktumblinghobby.com instead of proboards (this one is probably pointless as the proboards staff basically do all the work I would have to, and I cant take much on anymore), the other is a totally new domain with a forum on it which may or may not include rock tumbling......

Ok all, I think the voting speaks for itself.
The morrow morning (today now cos its 12:30am) - my first task will be to move things about a bit - as much as possible in-line with what I have read here and in the other posts regarding this.
I can always change things back again if people dont like it in the main.
Cheers Mark.

"But Mark, the taxes might go for better things such as better roads, better city streets less toll roads and things of that nature. Maybe it could go into research for a renewable fuel source or even go for curing cancer. I know, I'm only dreaming.. I'll just go live in the woods somewhere and be a hermit. That way I won't have to deal with it all. No that won't work either, big brother would still find me and bust me for killing to many deer or not having the right permit for something".
Hmmm - Edog, are you saying that you are ruled into the ground - so much so you cant even hunt?
How has it got to that stage???
Do you feel that you are "free" there and yet "arent" somehow?
Me too - its the same in the uk.

All, The only way to get shut of all the shit is to earn sooooo much cash that you get to the stage that you couldnt give a flying f*** about it anymore. This doesnt mean you have to be a gazillionaire or something - it just means you need this. No mortgage Dont vote Enough in the back for your elder years Live in a relatively crime free area But I tell you this - if you vote, then you have been SERIOUSLY CONDITIONED and BRAINWASHED into doing that and actually SUPPORTING THOSE WHO SEEK ONLY TO SUPPRESS YOU AND MAKE A LIVING FROM YOU. A government is just a puppet of cash. So why not be one yourself and go get some? ?

"That would save Coloradans an estimated $2 billion (other experts say $7 billion) annually in taxes that pay for schooling, medical, social-services and incarceration costs." I put it to you that you wouldnt see a cent back. Tax would remain the same and go into the coffers. Edog - you wouldnt get a friggin bean of a share of the savings mate. Youre best bet is to not bother voting for anyone, and keeping as much of the cash you can to yourself. Same as over here.

Im of the mind that the whole flippin board needs a restructure - never mind a "tumbling only" section. With so many members now wanting so many different things on here to do with rocks both in and beyond tumbling - a restructure and major build on what we have already is definately in the pipeline. This ol' board just doesnt cut it anymore due to the fact theres so many of us here, this layout is obsolete and I need to pull my finger out and get it sorted. My personal view would be to create more sub-sections etc which can focus on more fine aspects, but - more importantly to me in a still funny kind of way is that the board remains a place where theres not a whole load of moderation and people can say as they feel. That is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO ME. I guess that what its going to take is this. I interpret what folk want in terms of boards from what I read. then I put up more granulated boards. then A whole load of us say it needs this and that aswell then I try and accomodate that aswell. Also - I have purchased another domain, it is in my interests to build another forum which reflects the fact that I am a very unfortunate "logic" rather than "art" type of person - and am trying at a very late age to change this. But thats my dilema. But once this one is up and going I will one day be able to say Im a "bit arty" - rather than a cold logic head. Anyways Im waffling. Mark
