Debs Luke and I stayed in and watched the fireworks on the box. London eye - quite impressive thinking of going down there next/this year.
We had a good night - but I must admit - messing around in a pub still holds tonnes of appeal to me
I did bar work for years on end so Ive worked plenty of new years eves - those nights with a "do" on are always the best. Us barstaff drinking hard and smoking ciggs like theres no tomorrow - ahhhhhhhhh those were the days.

LCARS - thanks for the pic and lucky you (and me for having others support me).
Your camera experience and knowledge far surpasses mine and aswell as that I probably couldnt afford your gear - but thanks for the images.
Connrock - Im on the boat of "what will be will be" at the moment - having tried to fathom it all out Im all burned up.
I think Im fairly in the clue about star stuff and light and elements and time and space - but still - theres this thing that breaks us all - NO QUESTIONS ASKED and I MEAN ZERO QUESTIONS.
What caused the Big Bang - and what matter constitutes the (lol kind of) "primeval atom".
Im getting to the point that once I pop it I will be in eternal sleep where I know nothing and experience nothing - I do not dream - I am not "punished" and time elapses at a speed which is nothing to do with me.
I am hoping that that is the case - I hope for "nothingness". total and utter "nothing".
That way I wouldnt know that there was nothing there.
Oh - I must be waffling again. As for rocks - my garage is still a freekin mess And I mean a mess it leaked and I had to put bathroom tile sealant on it because thats all my next door neighbor had.

LCARS "NASA has finally decided to adopt the metric system for all future projects to avoid another embarassing incident leading to the loss of a space vehicle due to an imperial-metric discrepancy."
What vehicle was that? Wasnt a Shuttle that I'm aware of. Just wondered which rocket they lost due to that - and what mission?

Thanks all for the replies - space is very much important to me. Very important
I wish NASA would stop sticking HD vids on their site as I cant play them smoothly - when I play them they are starting and stopping - kind of jerky all the time.
Not everyone has a 10 grand PC you know NASA.
Well at least theres artists out there taking this sort of vid - but I must admit I like to see the finer details of a launch.

Yes I have left the file on the server so the movie can still be viewed for certain. On my pc I play it with windows media player - nothing fancy needed to play it, but for anyone who cant see it and you want to then download windows media player from the microsoft website - its free.

I found this amateur movie of the latest take off.
Normally im not really into the music which is on this vid - but infact I think that whoever did it dubbed probably a most appropriate track to the film.
Well have a watch - and listen to the words and see what you think.
Especially when the two boosters depart the craft and theres nothing but a blue dot on the screen - which of course harbours lives.
It is 42MB
Great stuff.

John - well what can I say Luke got so much from friends and family - he was overwhelmed on Christmas day - and cried the whole day out - so me and Debs couldnt open his presents - instead we had to look after the little soul. I think it was too much for him having so many people round at the house for dinner. My sister lives in Holland and she came over with her 3 kids + husband and then my mom and pop so theres 12 here and Luke is like - errrrrrrrrr whats going on!!
Im just a learner on the kiddo front of course
Hic Cher - whats toooooo much - I dunno loadsabeer and tomorrow theres more as were off to relatives
Ron when you have relatives over you are well correct - so lets get some

Well its because of pain in the left side abdomen for 3 weeks why I went (transcending colon). It is a nagging ache - not stabbing or sharp - just "there" if you know what I mean. I would not bother with it except for the fact it is not going away for sooo long.
KD the results - well I dont know as its christmas and things may take longer, I hear the longer I have to wait - the better the news will be.
Colonoscopy - yes Cher - this is on the cards and will happen depending on the tests - however I may FORCE one and pay for it privately if I am still unsure. It is not the first thing to happen over here - sample tests come first then the visual scans after. Your mum did exceptionally well - especially showing in nodes - I am glad for you and her - very much so. Trust me I have done a LOT of reading.
Well - thats where its at - blood on tuesday.
Its quite a task trying to force a doctor to TELL you you are ill - or otherwise - an interesting episode to say the least. We shall see.

"if you have any doubts about the doc"
Snowdog - I had my doubts and thanks very much for your advice. I placed my doc in a situation - and I think that everyone should do the same thing. If you feel you need testing at a small scale - say cells or atoms - then FORCE IT ON THEM - DONT DELAY.
My doc started saying stuff about that there was more chance outside that there was a sparrow in the tree than an exotic bird. Yeah - but my pains are cancer doc - you can sit there with all the airs and graces in the world - but help me out...................
