Super seven point. Split. Make a preform. The remaining piece will be a small triangle. The seller who I bought the super seven from sent me a small piece of Indonesian agate rough and wanted to see what I could do with it. I split a piece of tumbled Bruneau and the last piece is Montana I slabbed. All dopped to work on tomorrow.

1dave somewhere in our stuff is a specimen of Amethyst with some of the iron content in the form of hematite. As a result some of it is red, which is pretty neat. Right now it's somewhere in a box that still hasn't been entirely unpacked since we moved here about 2 1/2 years ago. I've been buying super seven specimens to make cabs. When you go to ebay and search there are super seven listings but they are further described as redcaps/ aka super eight. The redness comes from an extra mineral - Hematite so some may refer to these Supers Sevens as Super Eight! 60/70mm long Super Seven, also known as Melody Stone or Sacred Stone, is an extremely rare mineral with seven crystals in one. It only comes from Espirito Santo in Brazil and that mine is currently flooded and underwater. Super 7 crystals, also known as sacred 7 or melody's stone, are a combination of seven different minerals. They're found in only one place on earth: the Minas Gerais region of Brazil.

I am willing to buy end cuts of expensive material for more than a slab, depending on the dimensions. When I can get an extra slab after the split then it is good value. Splitting the heel with a trim saw produces to flat surfaces.

I'm the wrong person to ask. The value of an assorted box is highest for someone who doesn't have much material. I have enough that I only want to buy what I need. I haven't sold here for a while and I did an ala carte approach, group pictures with individual pricing which is a lot more work. Since I am in it as a hobby, I would sell unneeded material by the box for the cost of shipping.

These are the two listing pictures of Blue Mountain jasper I bought as a BIN on facebook: What I look for in Blue Mountain is clean (no freckles) minimal fractures, color and orbs. These slabs don't look orby but grinding a dome changes straight lines into curves. I can't wait to lay out some preforms.

I don't wrap or silversmith, so loose. thecrystalcouncil.com/crystals/super-sevenMy wife got me interested in lapidary. She collected crystals, minerals, cabs and then rough and slabs. She bought some of these books: www.goodreads.com/author/list/147821.MelodyHer sister was also interested in the new age rocks and crystals and mentioned Melody stone/ super seven so I started to look for it. I've bought a few slabs and then found that I could find specimens and split them with a trim saw to make cabs. The good ones are from Minas Gerais in Brazil and they are harder to find. eBay has a lot of super eight which is not the same. I just bought one on Etsy and it and I didn't realize at the time that the seller was in India, so likely Indian material. It wasn't expensive and I can compare it with the Brazilian crystals.

I've bought a few slabs and made a few cabs. The material you bought is superior to what I've seen for sale. Not knowing what you paid, I expect you could get a great return on the slabs.

Thanks Jason. You mentioned that you bid on Tahoma. It is increasingly harder to find. Almost nothing on ebay, Etsy is too expensive. I was getting some from Blairrock but nothing worth buying there now. I try to get creative and got a parcel on ebay with a make an offer. I posted it on: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/102791/offense-tumblersI've converted some of the smaller pieces to cabs and one was in this topic.

I was slabbing and trimming and the trimming got done first so I took down my trim saw. I marked this new slab but won't trim it until the next time I use the trim saw attachment.

The rough auctions were back. No slabs this time only rough. Slab auctions won't be back for more than a week. I'm only interested in slabbing to make cabs. I'm not interested in selling slabs. The auctions started out with a bunch of large pieces of tiger eye rough. It was nice but there is no point of me buying a 5 pound piece when I couldn't sell a cab at a decent price. The auction started at 4pm Pacific time and ended at 8pm and there wasn't anything I would even consider. I have a strategy for the auctions. At 3pm I signed up for an online poker tournament for $1.50 and played until 8:30pm. I came in first and won $100. I have the volume up and spend most of my time listening to the auctions while I play poker. John Rowland kept mentioning how something was a good cabbing piece. I know what a good cabbing piece looks like and they weren't. I couldn't stand spending that much time with only a slim hope of finding something to bid on.

I have heard it referred to as old stock, original and gem. The seller called it gem. I like the term gem because it is harder and cleaner than some Owyhee.

18 months ago I bought 20 pounds of what was supposed to be grade A Montana. The seller sent some extra. I sorted the material into promising, duds and don't know. I went through the dud don't know pile and got a few slabs off the don't know. Not what I expected; waterlines, dendrites and fractures to work around. This is the largest slab and I marked the fractures. I'll glue the faced side to a board continue when I'm sure the glue has dried.

It was a piece from Vance that I faced polished and decided to cab. When I sliced it I found the back very different and it bled into the front but was okay.
