Tela, I love the wrap you did with the Cocaxinite. Summery sun flash for sure.

Thanks for helping getting the ideas going-
I've been looking through my slabs & can't seem to come up with just the right blue. I mean I want Larimar for summer sky, but I don't think I can afford that sky, sigh.... Thanks for adding to the idea list.
Patty
Totally understand about Larimar, I can't even afford the Chinese knock off beads of "Larimar".

Thanks Patty! The beads are 14 gold filled. They are plenty durable to tumble. I used to use it exclusively for wrapping when I started and it was cheap as hell. I actually prefer working with it over silver and copper. When cacoxenite is found with other minerals it is called Melody Stone and highly coveted by the New Agers. You can see a little amethyst in this, but nothing else, so technically it's just cacoxenite.
Good tip on the beads- but I bet they are pricey nowadays.
I think I like cacoxenite better than "Melody Stone".
Melody stone is just crying out to have "New age" meanings . Patty
I'm with you on the cacoxenite. "Melody Stone" does have that new age ring to it. Sometimes they even call it "Super 7" but I'm not sure what the differences are except that Super 7 has 7 different minerals in it.

Don't worry, there will be more posted. I am going to be moving and have to clear out some rock and slabs.

Very cool to see all the different colors of Bruneau. I have some of both the "black" and the traditional orange brown. Never knew there were other colors.

Ah, sorry I’m late to this post. But, I’ve bought several boxes like these from Diane in the past, and have always been happy with the goodies 😊. Thank you for saying so, that makes this old rockhound happy!

When I'm not braided, my hair goes to about my low back, not quite to my butt. It desperately needs a trim though. With my mom passing and everything I haven't had a chance to make an appointment. Diane drocknut, I'm sure you know I haven't spent much time on RTH since December. I didn't want to come right out and ask, I thought that your mom had probably passed. My condolences to you. My mom passed in March 2018, and my MIL a few years before that. Now I have no one to ask to braid my hair, and no way in heck I can do it myself. But my dad is still kicking! He will be 95 in July. I've only seen him twice since I got out of the hospital, need to see him more often while he is still with us. Will make a point of visiting before I have my surgery on Jun 22, next week! Thank you rockpickerforever Jean, yes, my mother passed away in the end of April this year. Thank you for your kind words. My condolences to you too on your own mother's passing and your MIL too. Glad to hear that your dad is still with us. Definitely make it a point to visit him before your surgery, ya never know what the future holds or how long you have left with your dad. I was thinking my mother would outlast me but unfortunately that was not to be. Hope your surgery goes well. Sending prayers and healing vibes, Diane

I had my boyfriend take a picture of the back of my braided hair. And I don't know how but I braid my own hair mostly because I don't have anyone to do it for me..lol. That's a long braid! Your hair must be pretty long. I cut off a lot of mine a while ago, but it's grown back mostly. When I'm not braided, my hair goes to about my low back, not quite to my butt. It desperately needs a trim though. With my mom passing and everything I haven't had a chance to make an appointment.

Still no takers on the mystery box? What, doesn't anyone like good mysteries? Here's a few more photos from the box. A lot of these pieces could be glued to a board and cut at least one, if not more, slabs from them. I just don't have the time or inclination to do it. Most of the material goes for more than $5 per pound, and at $75, I'm offering it to you at around $3 per pound, including shipping. Any takers?

Very cool. I usually wear my hair in a braid but nothing as ornate as that. I think they call what I do an English or Dutch braid. I don't have a photo of the back but I think you can see it's braided.

Well geez I saw this post after I posted about seeing you and Rob on the video. Seems I'm ever a day late and a dollar short. So, Diane, you're still living in a time warp, are you? I guess so.
