Very cool. Looks like he had some great rocks and nice equipment. I'd say the slabs you think are Ocean Jasper probably are Ocean Jasper, at least they look like it to me. I see Stony Creek Jasper and Noreena in the pile too. The big rock sure does look like Fluorite. By the way, I don't think fluorite will fizz in vinegar (that's calcite). You might check it with a UV light to confirm it as fluorite.

It's a beauty, Diane! Great job on the wrap. It complements the stone perfectly! Thank you. I appreciate the compliments.

And OMG! Diane, this is gorgeous. I love it! And you must know I'm a sucker for crazy lace. And the beads are perfect with it. You outdid yourself with this one. Thank you so much Amy. So glad you like it. I didn't know you liked crazy lace but I guess the cab did...lol. I thought it might have been too plain since I didn't do any weaving on it. Guess I didn't want to press my luck doing weaving too plus I think a weave might have overwhelmed the small cab. I look forward to seeing your wrap, bet it will be gorgeous.

drocknut Diane- Look at you go! That didn't come out like someone who is rusty. You did a BEAUTIFUL job! Is that botryoidal druzy I see in that cab? I love the way the beads balance it. I bet you sighed a sigh of relief when you were done. That's how I felt after being at the wheels first time in forever. Nervous and exhilarated. Thank you, coming from the master of wraps that is quite the compliment. I think the cab did have a small druzy in it if I remember correctly. And yes I did breathe a sigh of relief after it was finished. I'm just glad that the wire behaved itself or I probably would have thrown the whole thing across the room in frustration...lol.

Having just seen that crazy lace cab in person, it's small, but your wrap looks perfectly proportioned.
The black beads made a fabulous accent, that balance the shape nicely.
Is the top matching stone a bead or a small stone, I think I see prongs ?
Guess It must be like bicycle riding- you certainly didn't forget how
Patty
Thank you. The bead at the top is the same as the ones along the bottom, black Chinese AB crystals. The top one is just slightly bigger. I wasn't sure about using the crystals but it just seemed like the cab needed an accent of some kind. Glad you liked it.

Those are all awesome. I must add my OMG to the Needles Blue cab comments. I have a few small pieces of that material but not nearly as good as what you cabbed.

Hey all, I forced myself to sit at my desk and get a wire wrap done. I hope I did the cab justice but know that it's been a while (like maybe a year) since I did a wire wrap. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the cab before I wrapped it so it's definitely going to be a mystery until Amyk gets it. I added a cab of Burro Creek Purple Agate and took out a Sardonyx. I'm in the process of trying to reduce my cab stash although there are a few more cabs in the box that were really tempting me. Here's the cab I put in the box: I've send messages to amyk and Susan so hopefully the box will be on the move again soon. Thanks for your patience. Diane

Those are all awesome. I like the black backing on them too. Thanks Diane! As I'm grinding down the dome on the doublets, I still find it amazing to see those plumes get highlighted the way they do! It does bring them out way more than just a clear or no backing for sure.
