I got what I believe is a refurbished Lortone NS8 arbor with two expando wheels, motor etc. at Quartzsite. It's very cute. Quaint looking - looks like this one, with both splash guards looking like the left hand one in the pic. I want to use it to ease the sanding step in making cabs. Need advice about what grit belts to get and whether to get Diamond or SiC. On my Cab King I have the following: I use an 80 diamond wheel for preforming only. It's too coarse for any shaping. I should swap it out for something. I dome on the 220 diamond hard wheel. Then I have a 220 diamond soft wheel (not expando, just a Nova wheel). [Don't tell anyone - Genie wheels fit on Cab Kings too!] This replaced the old soft 280 which wasn't quite up to the task. Then it skips to diamond 600 soft. Then I have diamond 1200 soft. Then diamond 3000 soft. Then I polish using spin-on discs. My 260 soft wheel (before I recently replaced it) and my 600 wheel wear out the fastest, and flats are annoying me. I was getting a lot of big scratches from the 220 showing up at around 1200, but hopefully the 220 soft wheel will fix that. --- 1. So I was thinking to get a 400 and a 600 for the expando drums. But ? Any thoughts? 2. Also, should I get diamond or SiC? Diamond belts are $79 at JSGems (more elsewhere); SiC belts are (!) approx. $2.50 each ( not a typo) at Kingsley North. Aside from wearing out faster, are SiC belts THAT MUCH worse than diamond resin belts? Cut differently? Thanks all!

Looks like it's working great! Love the orange/red/white slabs. What material is that? Thanks. I think it maybe old stock wingate pass. I could be wrong i have alot of material i am trying to figure out. Oh, that horrible old stuff. Not worth cutting. Practically hazardous waste. Just send it to me, I'll dispose of it. ;-)

Ash is gorgeous! Good decision and you're going to have a ton of fun with her. Did they say she was a blue point? She looks more like a seal to me, with the almost black nose. Ragdolls are more like dogs than cats. Mine wait at the door for me when I get home, do tricks, and right now my boy is sleeping upside down in my lap as I type. They don't have a lot of bad "cat" habits like clawing things and climbing the curtains. I have a regular rescue cat also, and boy is there a huge personality difference!

I updated the map with a couple more possibly worthwhile stops. Was at Q from 12/30-1/1 - it was great! Super fun meeting Scott and Jeannie.

Somewhere around here?" Guess I forgot to bookmark this thread, sorry about that. Yeah, exactly! My mom's lots are two or maybe it was three adjoining lots on (I believe) Cessna Street. Could be wrong though. She's looking to unload them if anybody's interested! Not expensive~! Beautiful in the summer.

@shotgunner , you need one with a really narrow blade . . .um . . hole - the hole in the . . . um . . . table, that the blade pokes out of. (Sorry, I just ate lunch, food coma). Why? I run a thin 6 in trim blade, I like the ability to watch for side loading the blade. A solid rim BD 30_, sorry it's the last and most important number I cannot recall. So your itty bitty matchsticks you're making don't fall down through the hole. If you make those, that is.

Any thoughts on tent camping? I know there is lots of BLM land for RV boondockers but tent camping kind of need to find showers and WC’s. The cold I can handle but dirt gets old after a day or so. You could just tent camp at Desert Gardens? Not super glamorous, but convenient and they have showers etc., and a huuuuuuge area out past the edge of the show where you could tent or park a car/camper. I know one seller who sleeps in his car. Might be kinda expensive for tenting, don't remember the rate - but you can get weekly rates. Or one of the RV parks in town probably has tent spots as well. You could also boondock it, and just buy showers at DG - you can pay by the minute or whatever. (I think you have to pay for showers even if you camp at DG, now that I come to think about it.)

so if you buy a bunch of rough can you car down to get it? Yes, see it all the time. The rows are wide, and there are a coupla car entrances to the aisles.

Great set! That last one is my favorite - and I like your display method with the wood - sets off the cabs nicely, especially the colored ones.
