Yeah I think you might be right, that's it's not, but if it's a jewel not sure either. Everyone calls them japanese because they are green.

Our whole system is screwed up. Seniors paying 20k a year = no the CEO's aren't going to get double pay because the amount of people that would have ins would drop big time. Of course they are stupid enough to think that way.
Another big problem is what it costs to get anything done. We need little clinics like vet hospitals, $200 for a surgery lol.
Unfort it's a race to the bottom once we scream enough about high costs they won't want to have their profits lowered so as usual the 'big problem', as they will say, will be how much the nurses are making.
After viewing some of the lower level obamacare plans, if someone were to say have a low paying job and the best they could afford is something like the $250 a month plan you get ZERO prescription coverage and only 50% of your hospital bill gets payed. In other words it's a waste of money because you can rack up $50k in bills fast and even at 50% your BK so screw it don't buy it. And of course they better get assistance because there's no way a Mcdonald's employee could pay that much to begin with.
We need something done, what I don't know. Being thrown on a level playing field with the likes of China hasn't helped and I think it's pretty much screw everyone else and fend for yourself is what it seems like. Bad attitude I know but it's pretty cut throat out there right now esp in areas I have dealt in.
As with most things there's too much big$ involved. Health is secondary.

Well after just now reading about japanese beetles perhaps I should've squashed him instead of set him free. I am not 100% sure that's what this is most of the pics I see on the net they have brownish looking backs. I do know despite the outbreak I don't have any more of these than I did in the past and I haven't really noticed them doing much damage so i'm not too worried about it. My walnut caterpillars are the biggest problem and I declared war on them.

My rock shop has AC. LOL. BTW I wouldn't mind doing my whole yard like that and throw the lawn mower out.

Try dressing the blade. I know it's new but I had some larger blades of that style that were new and I had a couple bad go rounds the first couple times as it was some more or less experimental reverse drop saw thing. After that it started stalling. After I dressed it the blade started cutting again. If you don't have a dressing stick you can use an old grinding wheel or a red brick. Don't cut all the way thru it maybe a 1/3rd or so then try it.

I'd offer $300, but I don't pay up for anything very often. See what they say. Hopefully they haven't looked it up on ebay already and think it's worth 1000's lol. Considering gas and time and it being for personal use and not resale if I really wanted it $500 would be the outter limits. It has to be in better shape than the picture im getting in my head to be worth 50% of it's original value. I had an LS18 that was a few years ago but near new appearance it took over a month of ebay to get $1700 out of it and it had a spare blade with it.

What size motor is on the saw? It should be 1/3hp 1725rpm. If it's 1/4 it might not be strong enough, or even a weak 1/3hp could stall. Did you by chance time the slabs you were cutting to see how fast they were cutting?

First grade? Start late or just a bit smarter when you have to survive on your own?

Helen....i've been aware of the avatar program for awhile and since I had what was to me, a real experience, I just found it odd that the subject is now being talked about openly and showing up in my inbox.
Not to sound crazy but I had what seemed like real experiences to me when I was in the coma. It became Borg like in which I was able to make clones and had a collective conscious. It was weird, they were somewhat independent but I could sense thru them. I took full advantage of it.......I sent them all out to get jobs. One of them was quirky and I didn't really like him so he had to work at McDonald's and I made him sleep in the closet when he was home. I didn't get any lip off them because I had the kill switch for any of them in my head. I also had contingency plans in case I was killed, blown up etc and that was in the form of backup copies that were to be instantly implanted into a host if something happened to the original copy.
Yes, I was one crazy bastard for awhile. It wasn't just a dream it was as real as I am sitting here. It took awhile to come back to reality once I was out of the coma. One of my biggest regrets, and I was actually very pissed off about it, was that I lost my clones and I would no longer be receiving multiple paychecks while sitting at home doing nothing.
I have many other stories on this subject but that's enough for now. Just to let everyone know i'm no more crazy than anyone else here. How re-assuring lol. I will say ever since then that any idea that comes along, no matter how insane, I can actually take it with seriousness and really odd crap just doesn't carry much of shock factor anymore.

As messy as it might be you need to use it without your cover to find out exactly what's going on.
Asides from the fence thing it sounds as if the rock spun loose in the vise which can be several things.......odd shape, not tight enough, too fast an initial advance into the blade.
Also........this type vise can do what's known as 'riding up' the blade in which the right side of the vise could raise off the table and that would def cause binding.
I would also make sure you have a kerf started before letting go of the vise and it's a possibility you have to much weight on it? Really hard telling without being there.

LOL I only listened to about 15 minutes of it myself. Just odd that something I kinda sorta experienced years ago is now becoming a serious subject.

BTW when I was in a drug induced coma for a couple weeks I went to lala land and had surgical implants put in my brain and became transhuman. It was real to me, I experienced it. Thus my interests in the subject. My little trip involved several subjects such as conscious transport systems.

It's a 3/8" ratchet I can tell by looking at it and craftsmans 1/4" doesn't look like that. LOL.
Nice rock too.

Thanks, that particular Frantom had a powerfeed and the chain is auto-shutoff. The original powerfeed motor was worn out I put a new one on it. I wouldn't advise the headache of trying to adapt one to your saw, just use it like it is. You can pick up a larger saw that already has one on it sometime in the future and that will be much easier. Now I can't remember if the Frantom tabletops had a 10ga wire that was removeable that goes under the right side of the vise and stretches from one end of the tabletop to the other. That eliminates drag, you might look to see if there are 2 small holes on either end. I no longer have the frantoms and cant remember. I know on some tabletops that wire will make a world of difference in how smooth the vise will travel back and forth. Ahhh........I just found a pic that shows the wire. Maybe you have it on yours I can't see it, often they get lost. They are removeable so you can flip the vise out of the way and trim slabs. You can buy a piece of heavy wire (round stock) and bend the ends 90. It has to be a sharp bend or the radius will extend above the table and mess things up, perhaps bend it over the side of a bench with a hammer. Might take a few tries to get the right length. This will improve your gravity feed 10x. I see what looks like a hole for one end of the wire at the rear left side drain port in your pic.

And no don't empty the water after each use. Personally id check it in like a month or so just out of curiousity of how well that rust inhibitor is working, maybe take the arbor nut off and clean/oil it.
Just guessing you're probably gonna have a leak in front where the splash guard is tucked in under the hood. Oil will flow down the hood, over the top of the guard and drip onto the table. Maybe you'll get lucky and it won't. Oil is nearly as bad as air in which the saying is air don't care.

Good job on the saw. I've had a couple of those come and go here is the last, which many here have already seen: I use sand and just take or add depending. Others have other ideas. Add a little at a time till you get the feel of it. It's a pretty much hands on type thing. Economical: www.kingsleynorth.com/skshop/product.php?id=46507&catID=112Maybe better and/or cheaper elsewhere I don't know. Is RV antifreeze toxic? I don't know anything about it but I always suggest the less chemicals the better. You could talk to my dieing poisoned dad or his 2 dieing friends that were in the printing business for years.
