This what I believe to be a nice piece of Sycamore. Found it when we were in central Oregon a few weeks ago. I will make a cut off the left end and polish. May have to bleach it. This material is pretty dark.

Saturday is almost finished so I better intervene. This is a Hubbard Basin piece I'm using for a doorstop. I also shared it in another thread so hope I'm not being too redundant. I have now seen it all!!! Hubbard BAsin wood used as a doorstop! Nice

woodman - I need to give Richardson's Ranch a call and see about getting a large flat rate box of plume or moss sent. I can't wait to see your new treasures once they're cut! Fossilman - Thanks Mike! Here's a couple more Cold Mountain Thunderegg cabs I did earlier this week. The first one has a fracture going across the middle, but I thought the pattern looked too good to let it go...and it held together...so I finished it. I bought some moss bed eggs, all they had was fairly small but will see what i get when I start cutting it! You never know!

I have some deeper cabinets that are appropriate for larger specimens, but the majority of my needs would be served by shallow shelves. Don't tell woodman about these. Those would look good on my rock pile!!
