Nice mixed batch, Chuck. That 'big green egg' is awesome.

Apologies, Evan, I've been awol for a minute. Been trying to go back through notifications and respond where it's still relevant. Let me see if I can't round up some photos of those last batches. My tumblers have sat idle since June, so nothing recent to photograph. Alright knave, I found a good thread to look at to judge the effectiveness of the method I was using before I went on the IR. Some of these rocks were tumbled using the 'standard' Lot-0 recipe that I used for a long time. Then I got the AO 220 and eventually went to the rough grind, 220 in the Lot-0 and polish routine mentioned above. Check it out and see if you can tell the difference... lost tumble photos

I was being nosy Joshua. Southern tradition, you know, to be well rounded. How far are you from Valdosta where the Withlacochee River is loaded with petrified coral ? Best spot to collect is below the Clyatville-Nankin Bridge. Must have kayak/small canoe. I'll be headed down there when the day temps are 90+ and the river is below 250 cfs. Do you have any pics of the coral? I'd love to see some rough & finished product. Go ahead and clear your afternoon.

I like these and passed when he was selling them. Wish I hadn't. Kingsley north has baby Brazilians one pound and under. Anyone cut any of them yet? If I remember correctly, Billy, Jugglerguy bought some of those Kingsley baby brazilians. It's been a while, though, I might be wrong about that.

Two thumbs up, as much for the quality of the pictures as for the quality of the tumbles. Both are outstanding. When I grow up I want to be able to take pictures like that. Thank you, sir. I have only shot several tens of thousands of photos to figure out what I'm doing. It was THE hobby long before rockin'.

Those are some wild patterns! Did you find you had a preference on the method used to finish glass? Lot-O finish vs cabbed. Is there much difference?

alright @garage Rocker, don be a rock-tease. i has been 3 years of anticip... ...ation Wow, these old threads just pop up every now and then. Fun to look back on them. I wish I had some spectacular story or specimen to present after all this time, but the truth is the thing split into three, not two , pieces as soon as the saw hit it. It ended up going through the regular grind like any ordinary brazilian agate. Probably should have left that one alone, but a tumbler's gotta tumble. Right?

That's a great first batch. Quite a shine going on. I'm just wondering how you joined the forum in 2017 and have managed to hold off on running a batch until 2020? You must have been very anxious to get that one done, once you started. Either that, or you have set the record for first stage patience.

Outstanding, as usual. Kicked it off with a bang and closed the deal with that Blue Mountain.

The only song I like by KISS...... Come on, Fossilman, they had at least a couple more worth hearing.
