Due to a recent injury and subsequent surgery, I'm unable to work my tumblers right now, but I did have a batch finish up recently, with the help of my youngest son. The irony is that now that I have the time to photograph some tumbles and share my work, it's pretty damn exhausting to do so. I did manage to get pics of a couple pieces I liked out of this bunch. Better yet, I have the before pics to see the comparison. Sorry to hear about your Achilles, Randy. You are way too young to be having such issues. Hope you are back on your feet in no time. Great that your son helped you with the last batch. They look great, and I love the before and after pics! Wonderful tumble! Thanks, Jean. The problem is, I think I AM young. Did this playing softball with a bunch of under 30's from work, stretching a single to a double. Felt like I got kicked in the back of the leg, performed a nice shoulder roll and hobbled the rest of the way, taking that double and knocking in the RBI. Never mind that we still got mercy ruled and I ended up with surgery. Here's what a total rupture of the Achilles looks like with MRI:

Are you financing this with the burgeoning carnivorous plant business??? Next thing you know you'll be out hunting ginseng and truffles up in the holler.

First, a piece of Fourth of July agate I got in the first Travelling Rock Box I participated in. I left it alone for a year or more, but finally threw it in for a roll. It tumbled for months, I had no desire to keep track of how long.
This thing looks great in hand, the subtle white bands are hard to pick up in a photo. Also, the center is a sparkly druzy area. Very clean looking tumble.
The other one is a tile saw shaped tumble from a KY agate slab I got at a local rock show. I shared the pics of the slabettes a while back, but here is the finished tumble.
One of the difficulties of working with KY agate is the fractures. If this were a cab, destined for a fine piece of jewelry, it could have and would have been cut smaller, avoiding the fractures. This, however, will end up as a refrigerator magnet or a random tumble in a bowl, so I cut it big and let it ride.

So glad to see him cleaned up and enjoying the inside life. Doesn't take long for them to show their personality, a kitten's got to play! Love watching them practice their skills. Thanks for sharing!
ETA: love the name Sid.

Digging that peanut obsidian and the last OJ. I've tumbled the marcasite before, but didn't know what it was until now.

That's one gnarly looking, beautiful piece of per wood. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Knew you must be on some kind of mission, been pretty quiet. Figures that you're out putting in some hard work somewhere. That looks like an Adventureland for someone like you, who likes to be out in the middle of it all. Can't wait to see your progress reports on this property. If you need to offload those Rios before you make a move, let me know!!!

Well, she's the one that said our old one was too heavy to handle. I thought that sounded like a hint. Self propelled it is! You are a good hubby Right, she propels it herself. Had to get a light one for her and the boys to use. Daddy's out of commission for a while.

I have a whole Tupperware full of small (tiny) tumbles. It's my favorite collection, like a running history of all the material I've tumbled, in the miniature. The Lot-O has been my sole vibratory experience, so that's all I know, but I've always been tickled with the results.

Intricate work. Don't think my fumble fingers could get that done.

It all adds up, Jean rockpickerforever, but still an opportunity to pick up a few rocks and catch a Nearvana show.

Those are awesome bots. Look perfect to me. Any hints on the source of the rough? Chuck Garage Rocker is correct- got them from The Rock Shed. I got both of the kinds they have- regular and blue- and the blue were all larger in size. I ended up not using most of those as I do not have a saw, grinder or any other machines other than my 3 tumblers. All of it was great material and only had a few with cracks in them at the end. Anytime I order bots from TRS, I get a mix of both. Theirs have made the best tumbles for me. Even the rough is pretty.

Bots are always worth the wait. You did an excellent job on those, shape and shine. Nice presentation, too. Before/after pics take foresight, but are always a hit. All around great post. Thanks for sharing!
