That's a real bummer. I'm glad you got it in a photo for us all to see, but I know you'd like to have it. I thought I had lost one of my favorite tumbles the other day and it sucked. Sorry man.

Ah, but your scenario excludes the possibility of Tommy buying a winning ticket also. There have been many jackpots split amongst winning tickets, so don't stick your tongue out and give him the nose trumpet just yet... Ah, Randy, of course we could split it. I think there's enough there, I would be more than happy to share. When I bought my tickets yesterday, I got them for FRIDAY'S draw. Lady probably thought I was nuts. Now just have to wait until Friday. There was an office pool started here yesterday and I was compelled to contribute. My thinking, as soon as I don't join the pool, they will win and I would be the only one showing up to work on Monday. I just don't think I could recover from something like that. Consider it insurance against a winning ticket.

Nobody won the mega on Monday... prize is going to be a BILLION dollars next drawing Yeah, you don't need to worry about it, Tommy. I bought the winning ticket today. You can win it and buy your toys next time it gets up there. Ah, but your scenario excludes the possibility of Tommy buying a winning ticket also. There have been many jackpots split amongst winning tickets, so don't stick your tongue out and give him the nose trumpet just yet...

Beautiful work, Tela. We expect nothing else, of course, from you. I think my favorite is the first five.

Good looking batch, Duke. Super shine! That Lavic can be tricky, looks like you handled it well. Thanks for sharing.

Rolling some nice material. I'm always a fan of Montana's, but I really like that pink banded one too. Now, get out of the way and let that little bird eat!

Almost a year later but worth the wait. Awesome stone. Chuck Well, we know this is a delayed gratification game, right? Actually, I've had it done for a minute, but my computer died before I got the photo posted. New laptop, files retrieved from old hard drive and moving on now. I have the other half of the end cut to tumble still, so expect to see that one next summer.

Just to bring this back full circle, I have finished tumbling the end cut and thought I'd show the results.
I like it, it makes an interesting looking tumble and it always leads into an explanation of it's origins.

You're rolling some nice material, Grant. Lots of good stuff in there, always a fan of the Texas rocks. Thanks for sharing!

Really nice banding on that one. Like the color combo too.

Nice batch, you put a super shine on 'em. Good advice from Dave about inspecting rocks dry at cleanout. I check them while they're wet and set any aside that could possibly move on. Once those are dry, they are checked again before going into the 'move along' tub.

Looks like easy collecting. Wish I had access to such a supply. Time for another kitty litter run. What's up Mr. Randy. Nice drive buy mud store right there. It was in a development, lots of land disturbance and silt collection holes to collect from. Where's those impressive Rocker tumbles been ? Been busy working and playing. Camping, whitewater rafting, fixing up a dirt bike for the boys, home projects, just trying to do it all. Still tumbling, but haven't been photographing batches for a while. The laptop I used to process, store and upload photos died. I lost some pics I had taken of my nicer, or unique, tumbles over the last few months, but most everything from the past is on Flickr. I'll probably put a new laptop on my Christmas list, but I'm not sure which side of that naughty/nice list I fall on.

Well, I wish I could play this off as my auction, if only to hear the constructive criticism offered up here. Alas, it's just one of my Kentucky brethren, trying to make a buck. I also must question the marketing strategy. Has not stopped them from making sales-so they must be doing something right He/she is wearing a towel now Is this a good price for these Geodes? I do like the towel look, not gonna lie. Looks comfy. I personally wouldn't buy these geodes. Not that they cost that much, but, to me, they look like simple quartz nodules. There isn't a lot of lapidary use for these, not likely to have any color inside. I'd bet they look something like this on the inside.

I really like that bowl. I can see making a bathroom sink out of something like that. Thanks for sharing!
