Another great batch! I'm also running a batch from txrockhunter. They seems to be taking their sweet time.

Fantastic set of tumbles. Groups 5 & 9 would be my favorites. I've been messing around with building a CFL softbox since I only have my camera phone. I might just buy one.

I have been running 2 QT66s for about 7 months 24/7 with no belt issues.

For all the "flaws" you pointed out, this sure is a nice stone. Great job!

Why are you switching to 60/90 right now? I usually run my rocks in 46/70 for MANY weeks, but I'm also going for very rounded, smooth rocks. Just curious why you're switching grits already. Looks like a nice batch!

100% tumble. BUT, I own everything to start making cabs (cabbing info video, flat lap, templates, lots of slabs). I just can't seem to get myself to actually start trying to make them. Each time I head to the basement I talk myself into another reason not to try. I'm having the same trouble with wire wrapping. I started one the other day, got halfway done and put it aside, having severe motivational problems and probably won't stick with it. Found some other things that I'm more interested though. Maybe your subconscious mind is telling you to send me that flat lap? I actually was getting ready to list the flat lap for sale here when all the "save RTH" auctions went up. I figured everyone would spend their free money and it gave me a little time to rethink my decision. I figured I should attempt to try and make ONE cab before giving up on it! This seems to be the story of my various hobbies. My wife will tell you she is my longest running (and best) hobby!

It might be your lack of participation in the forum. All of your 8 posts have been selling 2 items. It's a bit of a gamble buying things online and this might be the reason you haven't gotten much interest.

I like breaking up my rocks with a hammer. The ones I cut on my tile saw looked a little "square". But, of course, you get less waste. I still prefer the hammer method. Plus it gives me a bunch of little pieces to use as filler. And it's a great thing to do after a stressful day.

Any particular ebay vendors you've worked with before that sell this? I'll run the experiment and see what happens.

Only 6 donation in the past 22 hours. Damn people, don't you think RTH is worth saving & keeping in house ? I for one am disappointed in the response so far. This is the problem with "crowdfunding" something like this. There's going to be a feeling of "you didn't do your part" for people who choose not to donate. You can say it's not going to happen, but I've seen it happen to other communities. Even if this forum is kept in house, you have no way to predict the future. If this group doesn't purchase the URL, who says the forum is going away?

Good assumption on the grit actually being in the rubber as opposed to just circling around in the barrel. Keep up the experiments! I'm curious to see how this goes.

I tried putting a bunch of plastic tile spacers in with my competition rocks since I didn't have any other "soft" rocks to fill the barrel. I used the same amount of grit and cat litter. After a week of tumbling, it looked like nothing happened. The grit was still there and didn't look like it broke down at all. I wonder if the same thing will happen here?

I was just trying to lighten the mood in here a bit! I edited my post to add a little extra humor.
