1dave - For the dirty end of the hose, I would not recommend standard Vac hose with corrugations. The corrugations will collect sludge, become heavy, make the hose harder to manage & keep clean. I use straight tubing on the dirty end & don't need any crevice tool, just the chopped off end. Lynn

Just got the box. I'm not going to open it yet because I'm trying to get some things done around the house! If I open it, I'm going to spend some time sorting, drooling, oohing and ahhing, maybe slabbing some of it. I'll revisit this when I go through it. Lynn

arghvark Good to see someone who's building their own machine. We would love to see pictures as it progresses. Check with local sign printers for scraps of Sintra. Lynn

I have a garden kneeling pad or similar under mine. My Lot-O is screwed to a small board & that's glued to a cinder block, which sits on the pad. Lynn

My advice - better photography will help sell your rocks. The first one has 3 pictures from nearly the same perspective. Give use multiple angles. You might need to remove them from the box for photos. If these are smart phone photos, more light will allow better focus. Lynn

NRG - You gotta be nice to our members & former members. On that note I recommend a movie called Predestination. Lynn

The EZ Cab also has 2" soft wheel and 1.5" hard wheels. Maybe Baltic is the supplier? I've never seen 2" wheels for sale individually before. Lynn

Well, like the Johnson Bros wheels, this one is not thick enough in the middle for the genie. DH is on a wild goose chase trying to find a couple washers. If all else fails, I'll cut some pvc as a spacer. Any other suggestions? Your machine should have had extra spacers for that reason. I had mine looking like that with original space settings but had to alter the layout and use a combo of the spares mine came with. I don't think Tela is talking about bushings to match the hole diameter to the shaft diameter. I think she means the spacers that keep the wheels a certain distance from each other. Lynn

It says "Entry specs: 60% or more in silver with sponsor provided stones". Does that mean you can only enter piece with stones you bought from the vendor/(sponsor?). Lynn

Congrats. I hope your experience is as successful as mine. Don't forget the heat lamp variation as well. It's the only way I've used HxTal so far. Check out thrift stores for thick glass bowls that may double as bell jars. Lynn

TheRock - welcome to the reality of rocks. Many of the most beautiful rocks that I cab have issues with pits, fractures, soft spots. It does take lots of work to get perfection. If you have lower standards, you'll be easier to please. Don't lower your standards! You just have to work harder than expected for the results you want. Lynn
