Put it this way, Scott. He could pick me up on the way over. Then y'all both better bring some adult beverages! I won't be cutting for friends, unless they are here with me. I get busy and things get left behind. So y'all better head on out. On my way, stopping at San Jacinto river, Rio Grande area, spot in AZ where beefjello hounds and the spot in CA where luvtogrow hounds first. I wish....

jeannie and I went and picked up a lightly used Covington 18" saw last night. She will put pictures up after school today. I won't publish a price. I might get arrested. ETA Thanks to AzRockGeek for the lead. He found it on some obscure for sale site. Wierd site really. I've got a few big boy rocks you can break it in with....

it cuts for sure I threw some in the diy tumbler and my slurry was like toothpaste thick almost after 4 days. my load was a little light maybe 60 to 65 percent full rocks mixed sizes water to just under level of rocks. had to add water tumble for 5 or so minutes to thin it out b4 I dumped out the barrel. Let's see some pictures of your DIY tumbler & barrel

What are you guys speaking, TexMex? Some RTH members collect rocks on smuggling runs Mike. Collecting is a front for illicit activity and Tex-Mex language is required. I think Jeremy works the Texas and Arizona border. His collecting areas: That explains a lot, was wondering how those "westerners" had so much free time for rock collecting.

I was just curious how many here preform? not just breaking off the weird potusions (trying to eliminate areas that would catch grit) but actually grinding all the hard edges and sharp corners to speed things up. vs how many just throw the rough in the barrel and just let them do their thing? Please share some pictures & details on that tumbler & barrel in your profile pic. Looks like you're an accomplished wood worker.

Question. I recently received some grits and polishes. And one I'm not able to identify. It's called silver bond b silica. I'm curious as to what it polishes and if it is a good polish Looks like it's just ground silica so it would be no use as a rock polish. www.brilliantadditions.com/prod-silverbond.cfm

My guess is that the two pulleys visible at top right of the machine are what powers the feed mechanism. No idea on make and model. Chuck Thanks Chuck

In the last pic, there is a threaded rod below the two rails. That coupled with the two handled clamp with loop closure retainer holding the handles closed is the autofeed Sweet, thanks for the info Scott
