Thank you all for the nice comments.
Hopefully start cutting tomorrow, still trying to decide to use a recirculation pump for the oil, which it came with or use the bath approach.

That is a nice piece of chrysotile, I like the banding in it.

No - none at all. I could have planted a dozen claims on the Dead Camel Mountains YEARS before Phil found it and brought the hoards of claimers and clubs along with him. It's just semi-serious sour grapes for me now but the reality is I had no interest in being greedy with it or staking claims and making mining my living, it was just a fun rockhounding location within a 3.5 hour drive for us and it pains me to think of what has become of it. I’d be pretty frosted too! That’s half the reason I don’t give location specifics on my hounding areas. We have had MANY sites in Az, that the local clubs had used for 20+ years then someone puts a claim on them and wipes them out. It SUCKS!!!! Hopefully, everyone who purchased some of this nice looking material is satisfied with their purchase.

I was doing a little Pre-Black Friday shopping when I stumbled across a good deal in Havasu (3.5 Hr Drive). With the Wife's permission I was road tripping it the next morning.. I can't wait to get some help unloading this beast and start cutting. Maybe this is one of roy sister saw of one of his, that would be cool. [img I also managed to pick up a VERY large vib and about 80# of Brazilian agates for a great price.

A few years ago, when i was thinking refurbishing some wheels, i was going to try some HVAC duct work sealer. Drys hard yet flexible.

I agree with Mohs, start with some onyx or serpentine. It will take a third of the amount of time as a BC agate will.

Those are nice slabs. Are you going to try heat treating any of them?

I bought some of the Arizona black jade from Young Arizona and it is not jade. I did not send it back Jim I know it's a long shot as the newest post in this thread is from 2016, but I'd love to go searching for some, or at least buy some to test carve. Was anyone able to verify a site for it? I have been to the site about 10+ years ago, been wanting to go back for the last few years, some day.. lol haha. Checked recently, not under claim. I might have a few piece somewhere in the yard.

AzRockGeek it’s much easier to use the upload file button here on the site. And then it automatically loads it to cloudinary. I never go to my actual cloudinary page. I have not tried the upload yet from RTH. I tried to upload from being logged in on my phone and I could not redirect it to search the phone gallery. Looks like Tommy was able to make it work, I will get there. Thank you all for the feedback.

So... I finally broke down and created a cloudinary account. How do I transfer the pic's from my phone to the account? I cannot find an app in the app store. Thanks for any feedback. Tommy

Here are a few of my favorites that I personally hounded. Here is some Az Tigilites (aka. Fawn stone)that beefjello and I hounded several years back. Here is a totally different piece from the same location. Here is a cool tube agate I found in Burro Creek, very rare find. Made a sphere from one of the pieces. Then there is the Az Star Burst Obsidian. Can no longer collect since on military proving grounds.

I bought at two different times some replacement hoods for old HP saws. Top of the line quality and customer service. They even hauled one of the hoods for me to Quartzite to save on shipping.

great discussion here but a photo of a Great Western slab saw may add fuel to the interpretation that it could be used to swage a blade (too!) www.threeriversgemandjewelry.com/greatwesternlapidaryequipmentco Scroll down a couple of rows of photos to see the bearing over the blade. Above is the blade dressing/blade sharpener bearing. Jon Hall said the bearing on the hinge was to dress the blade, and be less wear on the blade then cutting through grinding wheels. After cutting a lot of stone slabs, the blade dulls, the machine runs harder, and cuts slower. Usually you have to cut through a dressing stick, or grinding wheel to remove a thin layer of metal to expose diamonds in the rim. The bearing is attached with a bolt onto a piece of metal behind the blade on a hinge. I haven't used one because mine is missing the bearing, and 1 other part. The ad in Lapidary Journal from the 60's & 70's said it sharpens while slabbing, so you don't have to do another step. If you have info on how often you use this against the blade, please send an email to threeriversgems@hotmail.com Dec. 2016 Thanks to Joel McConnell of Julian,CA for this photo! Perhaps HP was so smart the designed a part with two functions. I was researching Great Western Equipment because I recently traded for a GW cab machine with some unique (in my eyes) features. More on that later. Josh, who owns this web page is/was a member on this board. TRG I have not been to his page in quite a while, looks like he has some nice timely updates, I am currently researching rebuilding my hydraulic cylinder.. Thanks for posting.
