Robin is right I think. The bug is fun and whimsical! But I kind of like the proportions of the piece with the smallish purple stone, 3rd from the bottom. A little fiddling with the legs, and a spider is born! Or hatched. Or fabricated 😂

Wonderful pendant and framed so well! The way you continued the "halo" around with the topaz off-center and continuing the curve of the cab is just perfect. Thanks Gary! And looking at my pictures helped me realize I bent it in polishing so I fixed that and now I think the curve is even a bit better.

Could you add a round abdomen to the back end of your piece using extra easy solder or something? It’s a fun piece regardless!
and the pendant reminds me of a sail on a boat. I really like it.

I’ve dabbled in it. I made a couple rings a while ago, one was a CZ and the other was moldavite. I’ve been wanting to add some gemstones to my pieces because it adds something a bit different I think. This kaleidoscope stone screamed ‘add some blue topaz to me’! Yes, tube set this one. The CZ I did, I soldered the whole basket from scratch to say that I could They are rather inexpensive prefabricated from Rio...I won’t be doing much more of that type of fabrication!

I got a chunk of this stone from eBay a while back and I’ve been on the fence about the material. Some cabs come out pretty nice and some are rather meh. But I went ahead and made this pendant and used a 6mm blue topaz as an accent stone. It dresses up pretty nicely and I may be off the fence now!

Excellent cabs! The atlantasite is my favorite. The cab's shape and pattern go together so well that it looks as if you captured a portion of some repeating, interlocked, green and violet S-shape pattern. At least that's what it looks like to me. I like how you see things in cabs that I don't until I see it through your eyes!

I've never seen or heard of atlantasite...such beautiful colors! Great cabs, all of them! Thanks Mike. It’s quite unique, that’s what drew me to it originally when I saw the slab. Took a bit of stabilization, but the end result is worth it.

The larimar is awesome, but I am partial to atlantisite. Wickedly soft though. I've never had any luck with larimar. It always crumbles. Thanks Tela. I’ve cut a bit of serpentine so I figured atlantasite would be similarly soft and was prepared. You can’t even blink with it on the wheels though, or it will be game over. I’ve finally figured out how to work larimar, but it’s awfully slow. It used to crumble on me too, until I started shaping it all on my 280 soft. I’ll cut a preform, then it’s all 280. Ugh. But it holds together. Seems like the vibration of the more aggressive wheels is at least part of the culprit. I don’t know. Just my experience.
