Really nice designs! I wish I had the patience to cut small stones. I think maybe cutting small stones is a matter of sanity or something! Sane people probably don't do a lot of it, and I guess that says something about where I might be lol! Not sure I'll do many more though. They are hard to cut and a bugger to set, at least for me!

Excellent pendants! Even though the ones with symmetry appeal more to me, I am drawn to your asymmetric piece. I really like your positive and negative cutout and sphere sequences on the reticulated surface. Its so hard for me to make anything asymmetrical, my brain just doesn't work that way. So the positive and negative cutout on that piece was me trying to add some symmetry to an otherwise very asymmetrical piece. And now that I look at the photo, it looks like I need to round up that large hole a bit lol!

Thank you Pat Some things worked, some didn't but all in all I was pleased with most of the pieces I made. Now to find the time to get back into the shop!

That is a really good idea! I may try that too, especially in a case like this one.

Very clever and executed so well — congratulations! Have you thought about signing it? (Maybe with a small ball bur or even a scribe?) It's designed and executed so well that, if I saw it, I'd want to turn it over to know who the artist is. Thank you opalpyrexia I am trying to figure all of this out. Normally I stamp everything I make with a makers mark, but the stamp I had made is a bit too close to a financial company's logo, so I'm changing it but just haven't gotten to it yet. I wanted to stamp this guy but I didn't want the stamp to mar the fin or head, so I didn't even mark it. It never occurred to me to use a bur to sign it 😳

What a cute turtle. Yes, please share more of your creations. Thanks Beth. It's the first animal I've attempted, maybe I'll try more.

Gorgeous! Great design and follow though. I like it, too. May we see more? Thank you! The stone was just begging to become this. I'll start another thread and put a few of the other things I've been working on there. I know I always enjoy seeing what other people are doing!

I made this little guy a couple weeks back out of some of the Wyoming bonsai stone that I got from shink but I keep forgetting to post it. As soon as I cut the slab, I saw a turtle so it was meant to be!

Great set of cabs! For me, I prefer the point up on the Sonora. It's just more visually appealing to my eye that way and I were to set it, it would go that way.
