This is my second batch of Iraqi rocks.
The first batch I did the newbie way, by relying solely on the pre-measured bags, and using the instructions that came with my tumbler.

This batch ran for:
- 6 weeks - 46/70 Silicon Carbide
- 5 days - 120/220 Silicone Carbide
- 5 days - 600F Silicone Carbide + Filler
- 9 days - Tripoli + Filler
- 5 days - Aluminum Oxide Polish + Filler
I also burnished with Borax between each stage.
They came out much better then the first batch, don't you think?

Before they went in the barrel.
There's some Jasper's, some Agates, a few Quartz pieces, and I think one small piece may be a piece of Onyx (but I'm not 100% sure)
The large green one in the middle is more then likely Jade. Thanks Tony ( nepherite ) for your help in ID-ing that one.
And there's quite a few I-dont-know-ites.
There's also a few from the first batch that I threw in as do-overs.
Rocks are wet.

The rocks are pretty much in the same order as the picture above, except for the rocks in the bottom row. They are rocks which were added (also from Iraq) either to replace those I pulled out because I was happy with the shape, or just to bring the level back up in the barrel as the rocks wore down. There were more rocks added, but they just didn't fit in the picture.
Sorry about the photo quality. There wasn't much day light left when I took it.
Rocks are somewhat wet. They dried up fairly quickly.

9 days in Tripoli
Some already have a super high gloss shine, and some others have just a matte shine. But all of them have some sort of sheen to them.
I should also note that a few rocks got damaged during burnishing .
Rocks are Dry.

3 days in AO polish
These rocks were pulled out of polish at 3 days (includes rocks which didn't make it into the before and during pictures).
Quartz
The ones which started off as a "leverite" (brown, or yellow-brown) but turned into something more interesting to look at.
And a few others which made it out after 3 days.

5 days in AO polish
These ones weren't quite ready after 3 days of polish, so I let them roll for a couple more days.

A few Close-up's
The green ones.

And now a few others which I find interesting.
Thanks for looking
