I'm running real low on Ghost Wood, so I'm into some different wood now. This is partially replaced by lignite. It varies slightly in hardness, but polished very well. Reminds me of Native Americans for some reason. This is a Texas quarter with Sam Houston on it. Wife says it's Davy Crockett. This wood is very soft and porous. Didn't take a very good shine, but I'll keep working with it 'cause I like it. Thanks fer lookin' Curt

The last one looks like paper birch bark, Curt. Perfect silhouette in the third one. Did you plan that? LOL. Jo.

With the peaked forehead and brow ridge, I'm seeing a mountain gorilla instead of ole Davy. Those first couple of woods are really unusual and pretty darn neat!....mel

Sacred Caves, they have pictures of caves and I can see why they remind you of Native American. All are just awesome so I wont even pic a favorite.
Curt, I don't know what it is about Native American but I just wrapped one of my own stones that I found and then brought to Titania to help me cab this past summer and while wrapping it, all I was thinking of was Native American.

Curt, this wood is no less amazing than the ghost wood! The drop and the "quarter" are beautiful and so unique, these are my favorites.

Curt: Yeah a post Those are some really cool looking cabs, so unsual and unique and they do remind me of a Native American theme. I have some horsehair pottery from AZ and it sort of reminds me of that. Great stuff, you are the master of funky wood. Amber

Even though its not ghost wood it is still really nice wood. Great patterns in all of them and I like your shapes. I just got an FRB that was half pet wood, not good stuff like this, no color variation at all, just bland grey and brown. One of the reasons I never cab wood is that I don't have nice stuff like this. Keep 'em coming.

Sounds like a commando raid to the place where the ghost wood lays might be in order I'll follow if you'll lead Meanwhile this is some great consulation wood! It has a mysterious flavor, and definately a birchbarky feel! The profile is Mr. Incredible from the cartoon movie...he is trying to look like G. Washington but that is definately him. Tony

It may not be ghost wood, but all of them sure are gorgeous. I love the super dark black spots in the first ones.
