They work great. I have both sizes and another one that will accept weird sizes. Ken

Better hang on to her. My new slippers are no use for cutting rocks.

I have both sizes of that one, and a very old slab grabber that isn't made anymore. This one will adjust to fit most sizes and shapes. Don

i use my slab grabber quite frequently on my smaller 10" saw, it gets those last few slabs out every time.

My friend rockpowell is looking for a slabgrabber. Can you help? 1. is available at Lortone etc.. 2. is the one I have and is what she wants. I bought mine from Bill's Rock Shop back when the west was young and these stories were new. 3. is the closest I can find, from www.idahorockshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=433

I built one based on the one bobby1 made, similar to OP. Works great.

I tried to google it. It's amazing how many industries have the need for a "slab grabber". My favorite is the one for the fishing industry!

I tried to google it. It's amazing how many industries have the need for a "slab grabber". My favorite is the one for the fishing industry! Some people call crappies (pronounced crop-pees) "slabs". Not sure why, except perhaps because when you fillet them you get thin delicious slabs. For that matter, some people call crop-pees as crap-pees. Like pecan: pee-can, pee-con, pacan, etc. I prefer not to call anything I eat crap-pee or pee-can, ha.

I have a 3 inch and a 5 inch like photo #1, they are awesome. I am going to get one from Tony as I think it will work on eggs the best. I could make one but not going to pirate his idea. Tony is a great guy:)

Here it is from another board: gemstone.smfforfree4.com/index.php/topic,14053.0.html I used an angle grinder rather than a milling machine (I don't have one). If I do it again, I'll use heavier steel stock than I used because I was able to bend it. I believe I used 1/8" thick steel. I don't think he actually used 1/2" diameter bolts; those would be huge. I used 1/2" head and they are plenty strong. Chuck
