Who is the manufacture of the drill press and the model number? Is it the "Milescraft 1097"? Thanks...

Good Morning Ron or whoever knows this answer. I'm trying to drill a hole halfway thru a rock for the making of a door knob, have not done this before and although it went in to some degree , i would be at it for a week or more, can you help me? I was using a masonry bit, (that's probably my problem) and am now going to try to find a diamond drill as you talked about in you article. thanks for your help, louise

hi, i just got a drill, i have a question on making bead drilling cost effective. the bits supplied as a free gift were marked as value $8 each, & if you can only get 6 beads drilled per bit, this comes to over a buck a bead just in bit cost. definitely not workable. i also have some bead reamer bits that were a think a buck each from ebay. now, assuming i get 6 beads from each of these, that's 16 cents per bead. sadly this is still too high if you consider a SHORT strand of say 65 beads would be $10.40 just in cost of drill bits. so i am really clueless how ppl sell 36" strands for under 5 bucks. better & cheaper bits? thanks for any info.

kore21, I talked to a guy last week that was selling beads wholesale and he told me he was sending them to China to have the holes drilled. He told that even with their charges and the shipping it was much cheaper than having it done in the states or doing it yourself. It makes me cringe to think of what kind of labor is being used to do this. Not my cup of tea, but it really wasn't my business so I didn't say much. Take care, Bill

Hey Ron,
Thanks for all of the DETAILED information in this thread. Been searching for info on drilling specifics...especially for very small holes such as .75mm. My local bookstore doesn't happen to have anything that covers this topic!
Have a Dremel, now just need the press...hopefully you all will see post of my local creations her soon enough!
Thanks again.

For those of you looking for the Dremel Drill Press, it's called the "Work Station". It usually sells for $45, But at Amazon.com right now, they are selling them for $42.15 or something silly like that. Then they charge you $8 S/H, then deduct $8 for their "special" and then they take ANOTHER $4 from the price for the promotion that's going on right now so the price ends up at $37! Can't beat that price. I don't know how long that's going to be going on so check it out! I'm posting this on October 28, 11:48am.
