:)Perhaps this belongs on Tips or Vendors, but I had such a good experience with TXP that I want to make sure many members see this.To start, it is a sub-micron A.O. that also has a couple of "secret"ingredients including a flow agent. It is proprietory to www.lapidarysupplies.com [Mn. Lap. Supply].Val Carver there said I would find it easier to remove the white or grey gunk that settles in the cracks and pits of my Laker specimens than with my usual A.O. polish.Boy Howdy was that right!!!About 95% just rinsed out!I did use Borax prior to rinsing. These same rocks took a long time to clean out between prior runs.Val also said he thougt the pre-polish I had been using was not aggresive enough[1.4-1.6 micron].So I am trying his SPA3[3 micron].Val wasn't sure if this would release gunk like TXP,but I will let you all know latter.Mike.

Thanks for the tip! This is a "Final" polish correct? I finally started using Tripoli & found it to be everything & more from what other members here had to say about it for a pre~polish. I've tired AO, TO & may need to add this TXP to my arsenal as well~! Thanks again. Last

Yes.it is a final polish, does as good a job as any other I have used on agate and the recommended amount is one-half teaspoon per ten pounds of load!At $8 a pound that is a lot of polishing.P.S. this is in a vibe.It can be used in rotaries too,but you would have to ask Val for the amount to use.Mike.

Mike, I use to use TXP and my first 2 lbs worked great but after many loads in a vibe I used it up and ordered more. The second batch was TERRIBLE! I tried it in 3 different loads and had nothing but problems with it. I contacted the people I bough it from and they sent me another pound and I sent the first pound back to them. They later emailed me (a few months later) that they had several complaints about the first orders of TXP. My second pound was OK but nothing like my original 2 lbs.
I now use Rapid Polish #61 and have fantastic results with it.
I am NOT trying to suggest to you or anyone else that TXP is a bad polish.I just wanted to share my experience using it with you and all of the other members.

If you aren't using TXP final polish on agate you are working tooooo HARD. Use it at half the amount of the other grits. It works faster that way.
YEAH, I know it does'nt make sense !!!
