I got this cool banded agate in a mixed box from a member here. I took one slice off to expose the banding but I am thinking I might just face polish it now. Its about 2.5" long x 1.5" tall and I could get one great slab out of it but it might be better left alone. the rock the end slice Thanks for looking Chuck

I think you have a nice cab in the end slice, so easier not to cut the rest

ahh, botswana! thanks for the I.d., I really like it so i'll keep my eyes out for some more now. I will probably go with Daniel's suggestion and just cab the small end slice and face polish the large piece for a shelf item.

Looks like if you took another slice off, you’d gain more ‘face’ on the upper right/right side. Lower right banding might improve too.
Parallel cut would give you another slice to cab. Or change the angle a bit - cut deeper upper right, tapered to nothing lower left - for more face on the specimen.

Great agate. I love the end piece too.
