Hi All!
Here is the ongoing saga of this little gem of a batch. Here is the last link:

I let this go for 6 days in 60/90 and once again, I lost more mass than I wanted to. Some or most of you would say that is acceptable and for me compared to all my previous, it could have been worse.
The glass is very pretty!!! Love the colors!
The last four pictures are of additional slag and obsidian that I have added to this batch. The small half pieces of obsidian I got from a good friend here and am going to try to make them worthy.
For those of you that remember one stellar batch of obsidian I did last year or the year before, you will recognize that one snowflake cab, that when I showed it to my neighbor, he accidentally proceeded to drop it and it broke into several pieces. Back then I glued it together with hope of figuring out how to smooth and I added that to this batch.
After a good rinse, I got the batch ready for next stage of 60/90. I am changing a little what I did in the first round.
The original batch had 2 tablespoons of 60/90, of which (from what I could see) a lot of the grit was intact. This really surprised me. So this time I am only using 1 tablespoon of grit.
I added small batch of chips and scraps of obsidian that would normally be tossed out and am using that as natural filler.
I also pulled some of the pieces that I feel I do not want to lose more mass and could still be pretty when done.
I added only enough water to cover the rock, about 1/2" from the top of seat for lid and added only 3 tablespoons of plastic.
As Always....
