lunker what town are you in? I'm traveling on I 90 I'm in billings to take a break calling it a night in miles city. Heading to North Dakota but on the trip back west I'll have time to play. Was going to do crystal park but it's snowing at 7k elevation so now I'm looking for other ways to pass the time.

You'll be driving right by one of my favorite spots at the powder river. It gets picked a lot because you don't need a boat but I always manage to find something.

I decided to take the wife to powder River and we had a good time. I see it is a boat ramp and I'm pretty sure well picked over as you said, but none of us. I was able to find a few pieces of petrified wood and a couple dark agates. I'll be traveling back through there soon.

I'm glad you guys had a good time and found some keepers. To the left/upstream from the main boat launch area that brushy island is another pretty good spot at the top end, and it gets pounded a bit less I think.

Nice finds lunker. It looks like some potential for an iris slab or two.

Very nice finds Lunker. We took a guided jet boat trip on the Yellowstone out of Forsyth in July with Eddie from Mt. Agate Shack, Got some great pet wood and a few nice agates. The river was still pretty high then so finding agates was a little tough. I want to go back next year but I'll wait until late August and hopefully more rock beds will be exposed. It's nice that you have such good rockhounding in your back yard, I'm jealous.

Yeah the river stayed pretty high late this year then when it finally went down it left everything covered in silt. A couple good rains took care of it but it was tough picking for a while.
