Work gave me the day off, so my dad and I decided to take a trip out and re-explore an area where I was finding float of some white plume. I walked around the ridge for a minute picking up some bits of float when all of a sudden I heard my dad whistle and tell me to head his way. We started to find some bigger pieces when suddenly I noticed a vein exposing itself. I began digging and was pleasantly surprised with what I started to uncover. The haul. Washing them up... This was the vein piece that started it. 6-inch + plumes. Enough good stuff to fill a milk crate First Cuts Thanks for looking. I'll post cabs before long. I think it has great potential for doublets. Happy 4th everyone.

Crazy. Does Randy get to go out hounding with you? He does. But not this time of year. Ticks and rattle snakes. I normally take him out early on or later when it’s cooler. He also overheats this time of year. I’m wanting to start selling material and open up a lil lapidary shop. Randy’s Grin & Grind. “We put the GRIN in GRIND” Hence why I’ve been subtly dropping pics of him. In every Shipment I want to send a random pic of him smiling 😂

Otherwise some clown who is here lurking only to spy out locations will clean it out on you. Someone did that one time to me in AZ. Only it was in person and whoever it was must have been spying because I was alone and buried the deposit when I was done. Next time I came back the entire deposit was gone. No clue how they did it.

That sounds like a good schtick, Randy as your rockhound mascot.👍 Is that really a MM, or are you guys speaking in code? MM moss agate, which always looked more like a jasper to me, was one of my early favorites.🤓

jasoninsd K, fixed it. That’s as safe as a wallet tucked into a shoe at the beach. Ain’t no one figuring that one out. Can’t fix your copy of my post though…

Good work, that's some excellent looking stuff! Hopefully the outcrop will continue and so will the great material! I’m going to take some more tools back in here in a few weeks. I just had rock picks and a pry bar at the time. I was easily able to get the seam material out that had already broken free closer to the surface. But once I got down to the main seam (that big piece) I chipped around it then was able to pop it off clean with a big pry bar. Next time I’ll bring a grub hoe, chisels, etc..

Crazy how close it looks to stinking water plume agate. Is it from that area?
If you are ever looking to sell rough of it, shoot us a message!

All I’ll disclose about it, is that it comes out of the range of the Maury mountains in central Oregon. In time I might be willing to part with some of it depending on how much I acquire.
