1dave somewhere in our stuff is a specimen of Amethyst with some of the iron content in the form of hematite. As a result some of it is red, which is pretty neat. Right now it's somewhere in a box that still hasn't been entirely unpacked since we moved here about 2 1/2 years ago.

That's comforting 1dave . Maybe that's why amethyst has such strong metaphysical attraction to some people

For years I've been wondering why the agate bands on my Brazilian Cathedral Agate alternated dark and light. With my new theory of shockwaves momentarily changing the tiny quartz crystals into magnets, then reversing them, perhaps a positive layer is formed, then a reversed layer, alternating back and forth until the crystals are all removed from the groundwater? More flows into the cavity and it starts all over again.

Shockwaves, quartz, frequencies, radios? Interesing stuff for sure. What's the frequency, Dave?

When you go to ebay and search there are super seven listings but they are further described as redcaps/ aka super eight. The redness comes from an extra mineral - Hematite so some may refer to these Supers Sevens as Super Eight! 60/70mm long Super Seven, also known as Melody Stone or Sacred Stone, is an extremely rare mineral with seven crystals in one. It only comes from Espirito Santo in Brazil and that mine is currently flooded and underwater. Super 7 crystals, also known as sacred 7 or melody's stone, are a combination of seven different minerals. They're found in only one place on earth: the Minas Gerais region of Brazil.
