Yes. Casey must moonlight as a doggie model, since I'm always finding her little face on dog food bags, greeting cards, etc!
Here's the deal with the rocks. I finished polishing all those in the vibe and at the end, I got really perfectionistic again and objected to any and all rough spots and vugs and ... I put almost all of them back for another go round in the barrel. Some I put in a 3-lb 60/90, the rest back in the 46/70. I know that some of the pattern is mostly on the surface and that's why I'm sometimes timid about continuing to grind...but...I have all kinds of peer pressure at the moment!

Hi! I will feel better if I get back to this unfinished business. Seems like a lot of stuff was going on...anyhow, a few weeks ago I took some pictures when I sorted the barrel. By then, a lot of them were polished and the ones to get some more time were well on the way. I was going to post them but I didn't like the way the polished ones came out. Anyhow, this tray had the ones that I was going to continue to grind on. Then a couple of days ago I took these, of the collection that emerged from the barrels. I'm reasonably sure that everything on that tray started out in our ongoing tumble -- it gets confusing because I've got so much of this stuff around here, and in between the last photos that didn't come out, and now, I took a bunch of my favorites to the rock club meeting and might have mixed them up, but I don't think much. These are the ones that stood out as different from the usual MO lace, especially the one with the dark brown eyes. Then I had to get self indulgent and try the James close up thing, which I have nowhere near mastered! LOL! So you see folks, you CAN make them pretty, vugs and all!

You've done great with those pup! I'm planning on going to the Washington area pretty soon to find some better lace rocks. Most of what I have is drusy with some lacing in it. I ended up putting those into acid and they are going into the flower beds now. I do like leaving the vugs in there, keeps some of the rocks natural look to it. I think you did great and if I had that batch, it would be my favorite batch I've done so far! Sandy

That Missouri Lace is beautiful material and you done them up real fine. Amazing variety of patterns and more color than I expected from the area....Mel

Thanks Guys! Mel, there's color variations of all kinds, depending somewhat on exactly where collected. Sandy, if it's drusy and you can see banding, you would definitely get something that looked good by tumbling it if small, or cutting then tumbling. deb
