The main piece she wants to sell is an incredible Citrine. It's about 16"h x 10"w x 6"d. It's cut, and has several water chambers in it. She had me carry it outside into the sunlight. While I was marveling at it, she told me the general value of it ... more than my friggin house! I cariied it back in and put it down immediately. LOL $250,000.00 for this??? Only in your dreams. No sane person is going to pay anywhere near that amount for it. Besides being overpriced- it's not all that asthetic- no matter what it looks like outside. P

Punkface, perhaps you could tell me of your credentials which make you an expert on the matter? The pics shown were solely to share here on the forum, and are a far cry from showing the amazing beauty of the piece. What looks in the pics to be little more than a drab brown rock is in-fact a gorgeous 3-D spectacle of amazement. Ignorant sarcasm is not an endearing quality, especially from a new member of the forum.
Deb, I've not had the opportunity to meet with her again, yet. Until it's appraised by an expert authority, I have absolutely no idea whether the special attributes of this particular piece will validate an unusually high asking price. One step at a time, for now. Depending on that outcome, we'll see what steps will need to be taken beyond that. I have done more research, and looked into various means of selling the piece, but it's all moot until there is more positive proof of it's range of value.

You've heard of the saying "a fool and their money are soon parted". That's what someone is going to be if they shell out $250,000 for that citrine. She'll be lucky to get low 5 figures for it much less 6 figures like she's asking. I don't need to be an expert but there's one thing I do have and that's common sense, which is more then the appraiser had giving that ridiculous figure.
You're certainly not impartial either since you are trying to sell it for her.

Punkface, you obviously haven't even bothered reading this thread before making your snide remarks. Kindly find somewhere else for your troll activities.

Since trouble recommends body cavity searches for everybody, I think he should go first and the rest of us will get around to it later ...

Tweetie, small pieces of citrine are quite reasonable. Although it's commonly faceted, I'd imagine that a nicely cabbed piece, wire-wrapped in gold, could be very beautiful! You should try it ... and make me one while you're at it! J/K
