donna had her hysterectomy this morning....after surgery doc came and told me everything fine all went well....after recovery they got her to her room she was awake but hurting of coarse. they had her start blowing or sucking not sure in the plastic thingy with the balls in it...all good for awhile....then she started doing worse after a few hours. they called the doctor back in....he thinks pneumonia is setting in....he told me that isnt good at all.....they have to try and stop this now....so they start pumping her full of antibiotics. he said they have to drug her up bad enough to keep her asleep untill tommorow....so they can constantly roll her from side to side to try and stop this from setting in.....said it would be to much for to handle being rolled like that without being knocked out after her surgery. i aint never heard of such as rolling a person for pnuemonia....but hey he is the doc i reckon...they sent me and colton home....said wont know anything untill the morning....and she wont either. just thought i would let some of yaw know....kev.

Try not to worry kev.. I'm sure things will work out for the best.. .. and your wife will be glad they had her asleep while they help her do the normal physcial excersise that most have to go through.. But she's gonna need some extra TLC.. and I'm talking all the mushy stuff men are good at trying to do.. you know.. show up with some balloons.. a card.. teddy bear.. candy. a new robe.. maybe some flowers.. a few new cabs.. and trust me.. she'll fight hard on the inside to kick the phenomnia? (sp) sorry I suck..
anyways you know what I mean.. Oh and don't forget to sing! .. all chics love to hear their man sing to them.. it's like goooood medicine..
*smiles*

Kev, its been a long time, but I worked in intensive care for post op open heart surgery. One of our biggest concerns was pneumonia, we gave breathing treatments, and we would have the patient pull themselves up by a rope tied to end of bed and we would do a massaging type of vibration with our hands to back and sides to break up build up. I hope everything turns out well and wiah you and her the best. Terry

Kev - I just saw this... Sorry to hear about your wife's surgery, and I will be thinking of you. I pm'd you earlier, but just don't pay any attention to that... you have more on your mind right now! I hope she gets much better soon.

Wow kevin, hope she gets better quickly. They need her to move around to break up the yuk in her lungs. With just having surgery, it will hurt like hell to move. Good thing they put her to sleep basically, she won't feel a thing as they roll her around. I hope the antibotics work quickly, she'll need to be getting up soon to help work the sore out. Best of wishes and sending my prayers for quick recovery.

Best wishes, and prayers for a speedy recovery. The hysterectomy is more than enough to for a woman to deal with let alone having the complecations of pneumonia. Having gone through the hysterectomy thing with my wife, one of the best, and I mean very best things you can do to help her recovery is to do the vacuumining. The movement of vacuuming is quite painfull for many weeks after. This is of course after dealing with the pneumonia. Oh, and YOU will be on the short end of the stick as she gets the right balance of the replacement hormones adjusted. Just remember it is the hormones, and NOT your wife. Woody

Wow, Kev. I have had several friends who have had the same type of surgery, and so far, no pneumonia. That's kind of scary. Best wishes to you and your wife! Please know that my prayers are with ya both. Keep us posted, hon! K

thanks everybody.....she isnt any better today....but she isnt any worse either....doc says thats a good sign. they took her off the knock out meds today.....and started giving her demurral pills....and some other pain pill with it....so she could wake up somewhat......they want her to be able to cough on her own to help get some of the stuff out of her lungs. she still cant hardly breath when they take the oxygen off of her.....they say if she can get a little of the stuff off her lungs tonight....they will get her up and walking and that will even help more to loosen up the stuff and get it out of there....apparently pneumonia scares the hell out of doctors....and donna also. her dad went into the hospital with something else.....got pnumonia....never left the hospital....its not what killed him....but it contributed to his death. anyway.....i walked out of the hospital a different way tonight....on the way out i turned a corner.....and said whoa. there were 2 pieces of italian alabaster all sculpted up and polished....probably 75 or 100 lbs each on individual pedastals.....aint sure what they are....but nice they are....studied for 10 or 15 minutes....then remembered colton needed supper. oh...i do 85 percent of all cleaning anyway ;D.....100 percent of all cooking and kitchen stuff.....i have been known to break out a guitar and break into a song or 2. roxy....i tried the mushy stuff a couple of times....doesnt work with donna .....i sent her flowers at work 1 day.....when she got home.....she wanted to know why in the heck i didnt spend that money on some big ol fat steaks to throw on the grill instead ;D also when i had gas logs put in my fireplace.....i bought a nice rug to go in front of the fireplace....i was gonna be mushy again....i fired them up for the first time....got a bottle of wine.....had everything set up when she got home.....she said whats all this....i said just sit and have a drink.......she said....damn all that....just take me upstairs and treat me like the brute that you are ;D...im dead serious......kev.
