These are some cabs I worked on over the Holiday season. I photographed them in a photo box setup I bought on eBay. I made a little display stand to set the cabs on. I'm using a Fuji Finepix F650 camera. I'm still working on reducing the glare Deschutes Picture Jasper - Check out the abstract pattern Mariposa Poppy Jasper - One of my favorites Blue Biggs Picture Jasper Deshutes Picture Jasper Owyhee Picture Jasper Deschutes Picture Jasper Script Stone - from India; Very soft; Cuts like butter Wyoming Sage Brush Jasper - A real pleasure to cut; Very soft San Lorenzo Agate - Central New Mexico - Very hard agate with great colors Flame agate - Mexico; The green plumes are much softer than other areas Texas Plume w/druxy vein in center Hope you all enjoy the pictures, I'm working this weekend on some great, rare Oregon materials including Ashwood Plume. Happy New Year, HPD

Those are some excellent cabs from some very nice material. That sage brush is a new one for me, I'll have to keep my eye out for some of that. Your photos are really nice too. I would like to suggest using a plain background though, with cabs of this quality, I like to see them without the distraction of colors and patterns in the background. Just my opinion.

Those cabs are so beautiful and diverse! Thank you for sharing your work with us. All the Deschutes' and Biggs' are my favorites, but the first one is really something else.

The cabs are amazing, every single one of them and the photos are very good as well. Usually you can cut back on glare by diffusing the light source more. Something as simple as moving the lamps a little farther away from the light tent may help. For all of you that would like to make a light tent, here is as very basic setup that works great. filebox.vt.edu/users/kmckevin/itma_kevin/projrep/lightbox.swf

Wow, wow, wow! I love each of them uniquely! I can see a bird sitting on a branch, jutting out from a rock cliff in the first one. He even has an eye! Just too cool. I, personally like the paperbirch and ferns on your set... but it's just my opinion, for what it's worth. Thank you for sharing with us! Jo

Hi HPD,
The first one needed a drool alert, then to be followed by no less amazing cabs. you have a great eye for capturing the perfect patterns in the stone and also using some wonderful types of material, some I hadn't seen before! Thanks for the post and welcome to the board! Fran

Excellent work. Like how you combined the picture found in the stone with the cab; good eye for detail.
