Well Tony worked on my machine and I want to thank everyone for their help the last 2 weeks with great suggestions and advice. :)And especially Tony, thank goodness he is an engineer! I could have never done this without him! We got the machine balanced, he added weatherstripping to the trays and made little cells to hold the water geyser, switched up some of the wheel placements, and now it is operating much better! My scrapbooking vinyl made for good splash guards on the sides! If only the operator could make better cabs!!! That first wheel is 80 grit, but I swear it cuts at about 10 grit, it chews through material, it is then a big jump to 400 so I am having to spend lots of time getting deep scratches out. Just need to cab more to get it broken in! Bought a tripod, and Tony gave me a little lightbox thing he made, the pics still need work, but at least now they are not blurry. I will keep playing with lights until I get better Here are the results: Bruneau- I think this is my favorite cab to date, this was from Builtonrock in the Christmas box he sent! Marble- this is from desertdweller, this was the marble she was selling around Christmas. It looked white and as I went along it kept getting a pretty salmon color. Butterfly Wing Jasper I got this piece at a show for $1.00 I made Tony a cab awhile back and this was left, I love this material! Labordorite This was in a box from Stonesthatrock, I love this I didn't do a great job capturing the flash, it is really pretty. Amber

Amber , your cabs are looking great ! Great improvement over such a short time. Wouldn't it work out better if there was a wheel between the 80 and the 400 ?? like a 280 ? seams like your making the 400 do an awful lot of work. Which will make it wear out that much quicker. It probably is ok for the softer stones but it must be taking forever with the harder ones. Keep up the great work Dennis

Great cabs sugar. This might be your best batch yet. I couldn't have done better on the Bruneau myself, that one is stunning. I'm with Wolfden about needing another wheel. I'm not sure if we need two to keep the machine balanced. Maybe an end plate would do that and then you could use cerium or something.

Those look really good Amber, I really like the butterfly jasper. The Bruneau is really nice too. I'm not much of a cabber yet, but I learned a trick you might want to try on ones with a small fracture like the butterfly wing. Take some super glue and put some in/on the fracture and let it dry over night. Then polish it up the next day. I use a lot of super glue as my local stuff has all gone through a glacier and you will be amazed how well it makes fractures or pits dissapear.
Keep the cab pictures coming. Scott

My fav is the Butterfly Wing. I also agree about maybe getting a 280 wheel. The 400 is working way to hard! Tripods are nice, huh.

Thanks guys for all the nice compliments, I am really trying, I didn't have a choice with the wheel set-up it was how it came, I guess I can always spend more money for more wheels, there is always more money to spend with this hobby! The tripod was an improvement! Just have to keep working on the pics! AMBER

Amber, that bruneau really puts in shaddow anything else in this post, although you did other beautiful cabs there. But that one is THE one! The shape is perfect and goes terriffic with the pattern.
Adrian
PS. Now that I see what are you able to do, you don't have any excuses for those leaves ;D
