Ok, got my new wheels, which still need to be broken in a bit! I had some tragedies, and some successes!! A big thank you to Mossyrockhound!! I was able to find a small leather end plate for polish, I chose the tin oxide, since it seemed to suit the majority of the material that I like to cab! WOW-- what a difference! Mossy explained the whole process to perfection!! I thought I could only do the ones that stayed dopped, but after a few flying cabs I can even polish on the end plate with my fingers that are now worn down to the bone!!!
So here they are some good, some not so good!!
Imperial Jasper-Tony brought this and said make me a cab! I always get a little nervous making something for him, Mr. Engineer, he is pretty critical! I love this stuff!!
Bruneau- It was our 9 month anniversary, so I wanted to make this for him. I like the matrix and wondered how it would look cabbed, so I really loved this, with the orbs, the brown and the matrix! I think he liked it!
PA Moonstone from Jo
Lizard Stone-love this stuff, not shiny but neat looking, beautiful shades of green!
Ruby in Fuschite- This was a mess,it is so soft, I lost all my rubies, so I flipped it around and didn't cut or dome it, just left it sort of flat, I like this one!
Adventurine- had a little shaping problem
Burro Creek
Caddo and Ghost wood- these were the ones I made back in Jan, and dropped on my tile floor and broke them!! Tony helped me shape what was left, and I think they are shinier than previously!
Red From Mossy- Mossy sent me some red material to cab, this is my favorite of the bunch, that tin oxide made this so shiny! I love this, thank you!!!
Red Moss from Mossy-
Red?- This was from Mossy and it had like little red floaters, but it was on the softer side and then the top snapped off! I still like it!
This was the unknown UT stuff from Steve Holmes! This is so pretty but really soft and undercut pretty bad, but the tin helped a little, I have another piece I am going to try when the wheels are broken in a little more!
Rhodochrosite-Nothing cheers me like this stuff!! Soft but I love it!
Holley Blue-this was the other half of the blue piece I got from Maryann, it is tiny, but has a little druzy pocket, very pretty pale blue shade!
Kyanite- I am really sick of this stuff now! I did about 14 pieces for the wrapper girls! This one was really hard and gemmy! I hope I can beg one of them to wrap this for me?
Thanks for looking guys! Mossy thanks again for the slabs and the very detailed instructions!!! Even I could follow them!!!
