Hi, everyone! Ina kept asking me lately to learn her to cab, but either me or her did not have time, mood, etc. Today was the day when she did her first cab. I supervised her and also I roughly cut the material (Mozarkite), but from this point it was her work. Just look at her! This pic says it all about her concentration She worked patiently and when she saw some scratches or flat spots on the cab she didn't hesitate to turn to a previous stage. And, finally, she has done it. Time to admire her work now: When the cab begun to shine, she couldn't believe it's dry, she kept wiping it thinking it's still wet She looks proud of her work, does she? And she is right to be, the shine is there, including the PHILIPS bulb: As you see, I also grooved and wrapped it for her. For the moment she was a bit afraid to cut the groove, but I think she will do it soon enough. Maybe I was wrong in choosing the shape, I thought a shape not having symmetry would help her at the beginning, but in the same time the concave curves were difficult to deal with. Thank you for looking, Ina & Adrian

What a gorgeous cab and wrap! Ina did a FANTASTIC job! I can't believe that's her first...the girdle is perfectly even, and I don't see any flat spots at all! Adrian, I have a feeling you're going to need to start working on putting together another cabbing machine...I have a feeling you may be having to share more than you'd like!

Adrian she did a great job on her first cab. Mozarkite is a good material since its so hard and takes a fantastic shine. She obviously nailed that. Concave curves do add a level of difficulty. Now you two will fight over who gets to use the grinder. Good job teacher and student.

Great job with a difficult shape for beginners. You may have to give her the machine.

By golly thats a gorgeous cab! And leave it to Adrian to stick her with concave curves on her first one LOL. On the bright side.......other shapes should be easy for her now. Great job Ina!

(OK, people, she needs a better 'wet suit.' Any ideas?)

Hi everybody!
Thank you for your encouragements!. Indeed, Adrian chose for me a "very friendly" material - mozarkite which got a nice polish. Adrian is a severe teacher. I had to come back several times to obtain the "desired" polish. Randy, I remember your wind-blown tie and I liked it a lot. When Adrian drew the templates he was inspired from your cab. Adrian is lucky to have more spare time than me to cab. ;D
I hope we'll meet soon with another cab.
Ina

Ina, Adrian may well have been a severe teacher but that never really hurt anybody, and the results show. The smile on your face sure brought one to my face. You did not have the easy shape to start with but you handled it, and turned out a cab to be proud of...which fact we can see in the photograph. Woody

Beautiful work, Ina! Adrian, it looks like you have a good cabbing partner. I like the shape, and it made a beautiful groove wrap.
