Are any of the fractures healed? Do you find them without fractures? Regardless, ditto what everyone else said... Toad, Many of these pieces can be found laying around that area, if, you find the right area. Originally they are embedded in blocks of limestone and you have to dig them out. In their original size, they are usually an odd egg shape nodule. Most of the patterns are without fractures as long as the nodule has not been disturbed. One thing that amatuer collectors do not realize is they cannot strike a nodule with a hammer trying to get them out of the limestone. It is hard work to remove an embedded nodule. The blocks of limestone usually measure 2' x 4' x up to 5' in length. First you have to remove the block from the hill and then carefully work at getting the nodule out. Beleive me when I say the blocks are hard, hard, hard.

Have you ever tried to use Super Glue on the fractures? That is what I use. SG will soak into the fracture and when polished the fracture appears to be a healed fracture. SG will also take as high a polish as the rock itself.

I do use super glue, opticon and super clear resin. These did not come embedded in limestone instead they are floating in about 2 feet of top soil. These agate maybe close to faultlines that did the work for us.I do have many hard rock digs however.
